Gents and lady,

It's been a while since we all got together for a game. Last one must have been PP a couple of years ago? (Jack's visit?)
Anyway the rains have gone (for the most part) and most of the courses should be in great shape.
I'm thinking some time in July? That gives plenty of notice and plenty of time to work out where and when. Most of us will have club champs in June.

Give us some ideas. Millaa is always fun and easy to get on but quite a hike for the city slickers.
Atherton I hear is looking superb.
Mareeba in very good nick. Greens are rolling beautifully.
Julie, how is Mossman?
Cairns? Just too hard to get on unless it's a Sunday?
HMB is out because everybody except me hates it.
Gordonvale is out unless Courty agrees to play there.
PP and STCC are always a safe bet except for the cost and those f***ing golf buggies.

PMs sent to Courty, Julie, haysey, Solarman, dcanto, NK, Toots, Outcast, Bushy and Tomson. (does he still play?)

Did I miss anybody?

With the rain we keep getting here perhaps Mareeba is the go... Either that or somewhere in Perth??

mike

Yeah even Atherton is still a bit wet but surely by July everywhere should be dry.

Yep RGV might end up being my new home track. Given the limited amount of golf I am playing at the moment I am currently asking myself if there is value in renewing my CGC membership. I would be happy to play anywhere and given enough notice I am confident that I will be able to attend.

I'm interested. I don't care where we play. I haven't spent enough time up here yet to develop an extreme hatred of any one course....

Why not make it for the Thursday of CoC? Blue tee day at PP!

mike
23rd May 2014, 01:02 PM
Yeah good idea except most of us here have jobs.

My plan is to make it as long as the 19 other posts on the page.

Lefty...
Ginger, left handed, Victorian, librarian.
All you need to be now is a vegetarian and it would be a full house.

While I'm on the path of good ideas, can we skip the 6th? Just play a decent hole twice, like 11?

A teal job? Is that something to do with aquatics?

I crack me up!

I crack me up!Don't be ridiculous. A teal job is any form of employment where there is a requirement to wear a turquoise shirt. Don't you know anything?

LeftyHoges

11? The hole from hell.

Driver 8 iron from memory. Cocked up the first putt from about 20 feet but made the 4 footer for par. Easy.

11? The hole from hell. I agree with Lefty. Much rather play 11 twice and bypass 6. My definition of golfing hell would be being forced to play no other hole than the 6th at PP for all eternity.

If we both go to hell, I'll join you there.

For the record I just picked 11 because it's an interesting hole. You could pick the other 16 and they're all still better than 6, it's just the margin that differs.

Jesus. Doesn't look good. We'll have to go play the "links" at Sea Temple then.

As Mike started this, he can pick (anything but HMB) and also he has a hole in his body now from a skin cancer.

So he needs to be in the shade like Lefty at all times.

It would be worth it just to see Lefty play #6.

mike
1st July 2014, 08:06 PM
Ok folks. How does sunday 27th at Atherton sound? Also going to aim for the blue tee on the thursday because I can't do City of Cairns. Should I start another thread? ffs why is this shit so difficult?

It's a guilty pleasure of mine. ;)

It would be worth it just to see Lefty play #6.

Small price to pay to get you in a cart mate.

I vote everyone plays #6 together as a group so I can explain it's ridiculousness in massively graphic detail to EVERYONE.

I think we could probably do Thursdays game in the CoC thread.

I vote everyone plays #6 together as a group so I can explain it's ridiculousness in massively graphic detail to EVERYONE. Had my first annoying PP #6 moment last weekend playing in a 2 ball Ambrose. Asked my partner who knows the course much better than me whether the hazard was reachable with a 3 wood. He assured me incorrectly that it wasn't.....

Further proof that it truly is a **** of a hole.
