Just reviewing my use of online subscriber services. It appears that I pay about $100/month for the following for my family and myself:
Internet access - ISP
Movies and TV - 3 primary providers
Music - 1 provider
Magazines - 130 mags including various golf and music

These are mainly US-based as OZ-local for the equivalent would be more expensive or not available.

Anyone else using Next Issue or Spotify etc.?

Trying not go down the 'unpaid' path for the usual reasons.

Don't mind paying software etc if it is affordable and the provider does not appear to be 'gouging.' Hence my move away from Foxtel and equivalent OZ-based services as I believe they are overpriced.

Using Spotify. Love it.
Great service and I can have it on 5 devices.

I recently threw out about 1000 CDs that were in storage due to water and rodent damage... I couldn't be bothered cleaning them and converting MP3s. Unfortunately, Spotify does not have all of that music...yet.

Still a great range.

+1 for Spotify ... Love firing up some of the genre lists and discovering new stuff.

Haven't worked out how to go mobile yet which would be good for the car

I pay $80 a month for unlimited ADSL2. You can get the same service cheaper a bit cheaper with some other providers but after 5 years with Exetel I decided to pay a bit extra for a quality service and I am very happy I did.

$10 AUD a month for Google Music All Access (same thing as spotify).
$8 USD a month for Netflix (although I bought a 12 month voucher for $50 USD) for TV and movies
Rent movies via Google Movies for ~$5 if they aren't on Netflix
$2 AUD a month for Getflix US DNS that allows me to use Netflix

This covers 90% of the non free-to-air stuff we watch/listen to. The best part is all of the above services support Chromecast so I am able to stream them to any part of the house with the phone/tablet.

We have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. Will look at Google newer movies.

Amazon is not that great in terms of performance but it gives coverage of the Scifi stuff.

I've had Dodo Unlimited for a couple if years. Works ok. We can stream to both TVs at the same time.

For someone who is just looking into this what would be the better one to start with hulu or Netflix and why?

+1 for using Spotify too and love it. I rarely listen to the radio in the car now. I just use the USB or Bluetooth connectivity to hook up the phone or ipad. Works like a charm.

Still only using the free version. Anyone using the paid version care to comment if they find it worth it?

I did a month free trial of Netflix US and whilst it is good for tv series, it was very disappointing for movies, so I guess it depends what you want it for...

For geo-unblocking, I would recommend www.unblock-us.com (http://www.unblock-us.com) or www.getflix.com.au (http://www.getflix.com.au)

No sports. I'm not much of a watcher of sports on the TV so it was an easy decision.

I got both because we use both. The stuff I watch is on both.

Under $20/month for both just pay month by month.

I have a 2G plan on phone. I think with phones etc, data usage is quite small. When we stream movies, it's about 1GB per hour. Music is tiny.

i have an 18G on 3G plan that I got 18 months ago but I never deplete that. It's my backup link. Company used to pay for it. I took it over when I left.
