Hi guys


I'm running a FREE BirdieBall Shootout in Canberra in the next couple of months and registration is now open.


It's a short-form version of a nearest-the-pin competition. It'll be played in a Canberra park, FREE to enter, prizes on the day, beats and beer, open to anyone regardless of ability, no handicap necessary. If you can swing a club then you have a chance to win.


The BirdieBall Shootout is a head-to-head, single elimination competition. You win, you progress. You lose, you're out. We're limiting this event to just 16 players so you only have to win 4 matches and you are the champ. It's a fast game taking around an hour to complete.


First 16 people play. Everyone else misses out.


I've included links below to the event flyer and an info sheet. Email address on the flyer to register or for more details.


It is free to enter, no hidden costs before or on the day. You play, I pay. It's just one of my OffCourseGolf initiatives.


I realise this is probably only of value to the Canberra-based members, sorry to the rest.

Right now its a thought balloon.

Considering Saturday July 12, early to mid afternoon. Will be in the Gungahlin area.

Those who are already signed up have had an opportunity to provide their preference in order to arrive at the most suitable time/day. Mindful that many of the entrants will usually have other commitments/rounds of golf on the weekend, and after work in Canberra winter is a no go.

I'd be interested if you ever hold a Brisbane event.

With a slight variation this event can be staged by anyone. There are still a few loose ends to tie up but the plan is to hold events in other locations, operated by someone local, with us providing all the equipment and support. If you would like to explore further, send me a PM or email.

A quick update re the July 19 event in Canberra.

Drummond golf have contributed to the prize pool with four gift vouchers. These will be drawn out of a hat amongst the 15 players who don't win.

Canberra's BirdieBall Shootout was played on Saturday with a full field, and a lot of fun. Some of you had expressed interest here and privately about the event, and what I do with Off Course Golf, so I thought I'd share some early images from the event as well as the post-final interviews with the winner and runner up. Congratulations to Pat Hogan - BirdieBall Shootout Champion!
