Jack,

My 2nd set when I was a decent player were the Tour Model II's. Did yours come before or after. Think the 10 wedge would annoy me.

I also had the Tour Model II's and they were one of the best irons to look at and use I've ever owned.

I'm interested like you PG where these fell in the time line. I'm leaning towards before as I bought a set of TLC Grinds which I was told was the replacement/next model on from the Tour Model II's as they were no longer available new. Had to get the Tour Model II's second hand.

These were before the Tour Model II's, and a fair bit more expensive as well. You usually only saw them in pro or top amateur bags.

Jacks set would be 83-84? well before the tour II

The ones Ogle used to use

They look in great nick most of the sets I've seen have been well and truly rooted

the Woods that came with these actually weren't bad either

Sorry Irishamateur good luck with your search

Most folks would hit them from the other side.

How sure are you re:that time line?
Tour Model II's were 82-84.

Edit. Found some more info. Damb hard to find anything before Crow was bought out by American Brands Inc, Acushnet.
The Mild Steels ran fro 82-86 so were running along side the Tour Model II's may have been aimed at the Pro market maybe?

There were at least two versions of the mild steels though. They were around a bit earlier than 82 as a custom only order. The ones I have are the best conditioned ones I've seen since the 80's. Well worth the $30 I paid on Gumtree (including two persimmon woods and a Ping Anser. )

I remember the first mild steels that weren't available to anyone that couldn't hit it, they were made available to the public 82-86

The Tour model II's that i cant for the life of me recall as you said ran 82-84, the reason i probably cant recall them was maybe they weren't forged? more aimed at the "casual" golfer much the same as Maxfli had two versions of the Australian blade one forged, one not.

Not to be confused with the king cobra II those crappy sticks from the 90's that everyone had and the tour model that went from 77-81

Sorry Irish, we got a bit distracted talking about the great blades from the past.

Anyhow, are you near Woolongong? These are a bargain at $150 if you are:

Cheers, I offered these in post #7. They are looking like they are sold, just waiting to see if the buyer can pickup at the time that works for me. Ended up selling for $125 like I offered on here...
