This is arguably the greatest opportunity for a golfing experience this year.

The lucky 4th will get to play with two pennant players and one handicap pennant player.

Hey Peppas

The Monsta and Spud show only appears for "special" events (normally I cant stand puting up with him ).
You are always welcome to make a trip, it does get a bit chilly down here, but the afternoons are pleasant if the wind is not blowing

ps. Who am I kidding, only matchplay against Grunt could make TG any crankier.

I'll play anywhere, I don't care. My only issue is I have to do it after kids sport on Saturdays, so I am restricted to Saturdays after 11:30.

This is my first midweek round in a couple of years - maybe longer!

Buzz
3rd May 2014, 10:10 AM
Same for me now, my daughter's soccer is 1230 Sat, but I only have her every second week.

I might see if I can find a comp slot in June sometime and see if there is enough interest then.

That's right. You're not much of a wrap, are you?

Nope, too many long par 3's and the conditions of the greens didn't help. It was a little disappointing as I remembered I really liked with I first played it 8 or 9 years ago.

You did get the course at the worst it has been in my entire membership of ten years, the week after the watering system broke and we had an unprecedented week of 40+ degree days.

It didn't give a great first impression. Right now, its just held National amateur titles, and is looking 90% brilliant - there are still patches that have not come back from the December disaster, but will recover by next spring once the new irrigation system is installed.

FWIW, we are playing 1-18 without any holes out of play tomorrow. From what I heard, digging is due to start on Thursday.

There was a sign in Spud's street advertising the sale of Earth Moving equipment, I thought he had finally decided to take up lawnbowls.

Must admit I always did think the par threes are too long at Gungahlin Lakes, other than that it's a top track.

WBennett
6th May 2014, 09:45 PM
They play roughly 180, 160, 180 and 125.

This is balanced with 5 par 4's under 330.

Buzz
6th May 2014, 10:12 PM

sms316
7th May 2014, 05:39 AM
Gee 17 is shorter than I remember then! Has it always been that length? I think it used to be about 160m. The tee used to be well right so you played the hole up the spine of a long skinny green. Now you play it perpendicularly.

WBennett
7th May 2014, 06:26 AM
It used to play 170 from the back into a 1-2 club wind. The members tee is down next to the lake now, so you have 118 carry to the front edge and 130 carry to the back left pin.
