Ok, question for you all you ho's out there. I was watching the Johnny Walker on the telly a few mintues ago and Freddy Couples was teeing off with his 3 wood on one of the par 4's. The 3 wood he was using was an old Callaway S2H2 3 wood which must be all of 15-16 years old - he's had it in and out of the bag for years. I have used the S2H2 model myself a lot over the years and I can recognise it easily from distance so I'm sure I'm right.

Is there anyone else on Tour that is using technology older than this at the moment (excluding putters cos they dont count)?

I think Allenby had an old s2h2 3 wood in the bag for along time, could still be there but 100% sure.

Terry.

Allenby changes his 3 wood more often than his missus upgrades her breast implants. He did have an S2H2 (as did Nobilo and Duval for a while) but not anymore. Freddy's has outlived them all.

Hale Irwin has the same old bag he's been with for 40 years.

Your right about couples. And he uses that old s2h2 more often than not. Didn't tiger keep playing his old titliest 3 wood (a pt or something) till he went to the nike t60 (or whatever it is). And I think Adam Scott had one in his bag too.

I spose when it has to be your safety club off the tee you have to be confident with it. Isn't a great 3 wood one of those forever searches that we continue with, but never find.

alot of guys sill carry the Titleist PT - it's a great club.

Scott definately has one in his bag, but they're not as old as the Cally

in a recent WITB for golf digest, I'm sure Couples had the V-Steel in the bag...(an older WITB did show the old cally)...

maybe he went back after switching from TM to Bridgestone...

those Ping i2 wedges must be a fave...TJ Jaidee is another one of them using the Sand/Lob wedge for quite a while...

VJ used the old school Apollo Hump Shafts till he swithced to the new NV graphite iron shafts last week.
The Ping Eye iirons and wedges are still used extensively on tour. David Toms I'm quite sure still uses his old Proto Cleveland 588 irons.

When Toms won the PGA I'm pretty sure he had a combo set of TA1 and TA3 in the bag.

not a bad idea that actually...
