I have noticed this on other sites and it maybe a good thing since we are getting a lot of new members.

This could be either a rating for each member like ebay (only value no feedback)
or
Guide to how to rate gear
10->New (with the wrapper on)
9->Looks like new, even close up
8-> 1 or 2 minor makes
7->small amount of club wear
6->general club wear
5->idot mark
4->small dint
3->dints & marks
2->structual damage to part of the club
1->I'm about to put it in the bin but if you want it.

Just a Idea.

I reckon if you are unsure, ask for some pictures.

All ratings are subjective, my 8 may be your 9. Too hard, pics and trust...

Or even better, try before you buy.

I'm interested to see what feedback this gets, but am unsure as to what formal things could be put in place.
I have thought about putting some formal rules in place for Pro Shop headings however.

Thats the problem at present.

there is no guide to what a 8 or a 9 is.

Pics can hide things and some people don't post them.

Pics can hide things and some people don't post them.then there is no trust, if they're gunna hide things in a picture then they sure as hell they will also tell you it's a 9 when it's a 6.

Logic is flawed, if there is no trust then don't enter the Pro Shop, and Peter, that is a generalisation....

Its only a idea.

ok "hide" was a bad word.... just small marks don't always show in pics and I'm not saying its the person intends to mis lead.

The proshop is a great thing

there's no "ebay safety net" here if the item is not as described. All that's at risk is a person's reputation. Some people here would bend over backwards to make sure they've been open and honest. Other's don't care at all.... Word soon gets out as to who those people are...

Karma baby... Beware the vengeful elephant....

BV is on the money. If members are selling to members then karma is strongest deterrent possible.

All I can think think is why? If you rip off so called friends I guess you are not really respecting the friendship that this place builds.

Hey late to the thread but I strongly believe a "USED CLUB CONDITION GUIDE" should be posted as a Sticky on the Pro Shop. It doesn't stop people lying but for the honest ones (99.9%) on this site it provides at least guidance to all.

I currently have a few things up for sale -if I take one in particular (690.mb's) I rated them a 9, as I recall, being lightly used. On Pete's suggested scale they would be an 8. The difference being I see no reason to have a rating for new clubs -they are simply new. Hence my suggestion above was a "USED club" rating. This simply highlights possible misinterpretations by folk trying to do an honest deal. Of course most of us regulars would simply refund and return on deals where there were serious disagreements.
