I used to play a lot (3-4 times a week), but not much since my daughter was born. Suppose it was more a social thing for me at the time. These days golf takes up all my spare time.

I'm what you call retired I guess but going back a few years I played semi-professionally... Have more than a million hands logged across Stars and Full Tilt. Used to play mixed games too. Games are way tougher these days, less rakeback and a lot more knowledgeable players.

And the threads to go with it.

I've won more money in OZgolf Champs poker games than I have online.

Only prb is it is on the same time as my uni exams so will have to sell my ticket.

Not a great deal now no...

Month or two ago I exported my DB and worked out how many hands is played since I started keeping track, nearly fainted...

Got sick of travelling (well, got sick of the cost of travelling, both financially and otherwise) and found a pretty good job so no more 130am starts!

I play a bit of freeroll poker whenever I feel like I can tolerate the unwashed, brain-dead miscreants for a couple of hours (so usually once every 2 months or so, about as often as I play golf). Used to play a bit more of it back 5 or so years ago.

When freeroll poker made it big after Hachem's win I came 2nd out of 392 entrants in the VIC state champs through APL, and got the chance to go to Sydney and play for a $1m prize pool. 1st place paid $300k, all the way down to 80th for $1k. 236 starters, I bust out with quad 7's against quad A's in 93rd.

If you think I've got a temper on the course you should've seen me that day.

hahah yeah i cant stand free rolls, i usually only go when im broke on a sunday arvo and want something to do.

when i used to roll them hard i made regionals won that and made state, ur regionals had 500 players! and what did i get for winning...$70 and a tiny ass trophy...so bad.
i didnt bother with state, 4 hr drive to play, ef that.

I play every so often online (888 poker).. not a fan but I stick to high cost games once ever so often due to everyone in the cheap tables going all in every second hand. Used to spend most of my weekends at the casino when I was 18 and doing my apprenticeship, long nights but usually came out a little ahead once the influx of all the guys who had been at races came through. You play any cash games on the coast RR?

That's the beauty of poker ... A competent amateur can play on the big stage with the pros, as long as you have the cash!

Played with Warney a couple of times in HS stuff round the traps - surprised me how focused he was during play then soon as the breaks were on laughing carrying on signing autographs, top bloke.

Wasn't much of a player last I played with him but sice getting the sponsorship deal with 888 I guess he's taking it a bit more seriously...
