35 points ( 16/19 ) - hit the ball quite well but had 2 misses - one was a double hit on a putt out of thick green surrounds, the other I got stuck under a tree and tried to play it out with no success - anyway, now on a new low of 13 ( GA 11.8 ) which is 5 shots lost since the start of December

After reading the rules today I realised that I gave myself the wrong penalty for my double- hit on Monday. I believed that I needed to count the original stroke, the second hit plus add a penalty stroke. I now see that the correct ruling is to count only the original stroke and add a penalty stroke. I missed out on third place by a stroke and a win by another, so that maybe cost me.

Shot 36 pts today around Vines Ellenbrook in PGN comp. It gusted all day and I was happy with the round. Too bad about the wipe on 17. 6 fwys. 11 greens. 4/7 up and downs inside 40m. 30 putts. Getting close to a GA of 3. Hoping for a high daily scratch rating. Currently on 3.7 with a played to 5.4 about to be replaced by this round.

Played my first comp since I busted my foot with Matty today.

Swing is very rusty, have managed to develop a nice over the top move.

Had 32 points off 9, lost 1 ball trying a hero shot, had 3 lots of 3 putts, and generally just felt rust and out of sorts after a 8-9 week break.

I managed a struggling 32 points in the black marker challenge at Ballina today. I didn't play well overall, and every time I thought I'd 'solved' my problems by hitting some good shots something else went wrong. Amazingly enough, due to the difficulty of the course on black marker day, my 32 today was a flag, while 35 from the white tees last Friday wasn't.

Birdie on the 1st then 3 putted the 2nd, then hit flush 6 iron middle of the green the ball went higher on the bounce than the flight ended 40yds over the back so I picked up and didn’t score again for the rest of the round. Smashed two drives that ended in crap one hit the middle of fairway and bounced 90o OOB and the other landed in a crack that buried 40cm under the surface. Oh yeah no preferred lies. Great fun anyone care to join me???

A bad start and a good fighting second nine means I am fairly happy with my 35 points from the white tees at Ballina today. I had two 270 degree lip outs and didn't hole anything so it could have been significantly better. There were some encouraging signs for the near future today.

Mixed bag with the ball striking. 1 wipe on the 14th (my shank hole last week)...3rd shot from 105m and I pulled it left, 2 duffed chips and a putt off the fringe for a point that never had a hope.

I mock celebrated my first instance after 10 attempts of hitting the 17th green in regulation, then having one of the 2 putts as mentioned above. :lol:

And they had the sprinklers on for a little bit just as we got to the tee box. Lasered 124m to a back left pin, hit a hard 50* pin high and it spun back about 5-6 metres.

Most of the greens had been watered, but thankfully not saturated.

I chopped it up again today for 80 nett. Hit 2 great drives with my first two attempts and thought I had it figured out. Then the lefts came back.

Went left on 6, almost OB left on 7 (dead, took triple), left into water hazard on 10, OB left into a backyard on 12, OB left onto a roof (I hope) on 15.

So you could say 80 nett wasn't that bad.... :)

77/72 in second qualifying round of matchplay champs.
Started on the tenth with a bogie, bogied 13 with a 3 putt. Birdied 14 and 18 to finish square. Shot 41 on the front with two 3 putts and a 4 putt?
Should make top 16 in gross as I had 77/72 the first qualifying round.

34 points yesterday. 19/15. Was my first round with the MP53's that I recently acquired from 3od. Haven't really worked out my distances with them yet so was more than happy with the result, especially considering it included 2 NTP's as well.

Not impressed with GL however which has somehow mysteriously changed my cap in the time between me checking it a day or two ago and handing my card in yesterday. Seems I should have played off 16 instead of 14 so should have been 36 points. ****!

2 shots is a big change, did you notice which results had been changed?

I'm currently trying to work out which flagged round/s may have changed causing the jump from 12.0 to 13.2.

I've played the same comp the previous three weeks and hadn't had a flagged round so my G.A cap had stayed at 12.0 which equates to a daily cap of 14 based on the slope of 133. Now when I look at my GL, the previous weeks records all show a daily cap of 16 instead of the 14 I had played off, which I know was correct at the time I played.

Oh well, on a positive note, at least I get an extra shot for Summer Cup next week!

4BBB stroke on Saturday , teamed up with AussieAshley from the forums here.. both played pretty piss poor and only managed to par's when each other already had a par in .. I shot 10 over myself and I dare say he would of been around the same mark for a Net 71 in the end... about 14 shots off the pace as usual .

Positives are that ive played such bad golf in the past 3 weeks but still managing to keep my rounds around 10-12 over and getting them flagged.. New irons werent working.. need the lies and grips changed but felt smooth when flushed..

Ahhh ok.

I joined the guys for a round after seeing they were a two ball. I was due to hit off about 30 minutes later. So a rushed tee shot off the first into trees wasn't a great start. Had an easy par on the hole so wasn't all bad :)

Finished up with 41 points (21/20) with a 77 (+6) off the stick which is a new PB. Handicap index has dropped to 10.0 which was my goal to get to when I started playing golf. Now to maintain it or drop it further!

I don't think you're far away from single figures Waddzy. Just eliminate those couple of bad holes you've been having and you'll be breaking 80 regularly.

I started the Saturday in fine style by driving the 30mins to the golf club @ 6:30am, unpacked all the gear out of the car then realised I left my wallet home. Repack car, go home and have another 2&1/2hrs sleep before heading back out to catch an afternoon tee off (the joy of no booked spots). Waste near on 45mins waiting in line on the way to vote in the Sate Election. Make it to golf club just in time to to get a hit in the last group and it's now blowing it's guts out when it was calm in the morning. Shank 5 out of 12 warm up chip shots then head to the 1st tee.

Striped the first 4 drives down the centre of fairway, hit no greens in reg and made 2 pars, 2 soft bogeys. Make soft bogey on the par 3 after missing 4 foot par save. Stand on the par 5 with wind blowing hard right to left and some how manage to straight block it OB against the wind with no deviation. Day didn't get any better from then and didn't hit one green in reg on the front 9.
Had 2 down hill sliders for birdie on 10 and 11 from 4 foot then 3 foot and missed both. Finished the day with 4 lack lustre bogeys and two 3 stabs for 28pts.
