Just looked at the PGA Tour site and saw Steven has been DQ'd from the event in Arizona. Anyone know why? Seem to becoming a regular occurance for him that is the 2nd or 3rd time I can recall.

Found out why, he signed an incorrect scorecard.

how can you sign the wrong card, it doesnt seem that hard to swap and then swap back??
if you sign it, realise your mistake, can you rub it out and sign the correct card before you hand it in?
another point, will all the computer stats and TV coverage, is the card really needed in pro golf any more?? and signing a wrong card doesnt affect anything but paper work, seems silly to me

incorrect could have been a wrong score entered rather than a wrong card itself.

how about that J B Holmes ...... 18 drives over 330 yards so far for the tournament

Grunt

Have not seen much of it, coverage was really crap on 1st day so I gave it a miss.

Jarro

i saw a bit of it this morning at work. Holmes drove it to about 20 yards from the fringe of a 410 yard par 4.

WOW, so that is why he is going so well didn't he shoot a 61 in the 2nd round.

One of the great things that sets golf apart is the 'self- umpiring' aspect where we are responsible for enforcing the rules on ourselves. The signing of a card is the formal part that signifies that what others think is your score is correct (or not)

Could not find anything on the web today, might appear in the coming days or be on the golfshow this week on Fox.

Found out he walked off in embarrasment after having a real bout of shanking alot of shots. He is said to be having real swing issues not being able to know where teh ball is going to go with each shot. He hasn't started the Chrysler Classic well today either shooting a 10 over 82.

Steven Bowditch had a 20-over par round of 90 on the opening day of the FedEx St.Jude Classic yesterday and, then was DQ for the 5th time this year. His round included a quadruple bogey nine, a triple bogey seven, three double bogeys, seven bogeys and six pars.

ok so he has had what probably amounts to playing about 18 shots above his 'handicap'. big deal, i have had a net 101 or 102 which included three scores of 11 or 12 in 4 holes. (the other hole was a short par 3) all that off a 5 handicap as well and no dummy spit either - so i figure that was 26 odd shots above my handicap!

So much for having a break to sort out his game. Is there a shank stat, raidrboy?

he seems to be a bit of a hot-head on the course when things aren't going his way.

maybe a trip to the sports pyschologists would be a good investment ? i believe they have them on tour over there for the players to use.

Has to be a head problem. $0 earned this year on the tour.

In how many starts though? I don't think he's played too many tour events in the US?

goughy

He's playing his 11th pga tour event this weekend, as well as having played 2 nationwide events this year. He's been dq'ed 3 times, withdrew from 2 after first rounds and has missed the cut in every other event.

Made another cut, although he did all he could to try and miss the cut in the third round, and you can't miss the cut from the third round. But he tried!

Speaking with a couple of guys that know of his battles and the DQ's have been due to not handing in cards.. Obviously due to big numbers..

This then asks the question if you were a pro, would you prefer to see a 90 beside your name or DQ?

goughy

I feel for the guy because he obviously does have some problems affecting his golf. There's no way he could get on the pga tour then perform as he has without something else in the way. He obviously has enough game.

How did he end up today? haven't checked on PGA tour yet.

Grunt

He had a 4 over 76, to finish 78th (2nd last)
Very up and down event for him
72, 67, 80 & 76

Just watching the highlights of the Nationwide event from last weekend - anyone else see Bowey putting out for his round of 77 on the 18th - bare footed?!

Nearly 100th in the order of merit, anyone know his plans for next year?

Fish, that was on TV like 2 mins ago. Are you being Uber-nerd and watching telly with your laptop on your lap?

Fishman Dan

You can't be looking through my windows, the blinds are drawn. :-s Besides, if you knew the size of my apartment (we refer to it as the 'compartment'), there's not a lot of places to a) put a laptop, and b) be in the unit and not see/hear the TV.

So what's your excuse? ;)

Great Story, everyone should read and think about what someone could be going through before opening ones mouth with an un-educated opinion. (not Fun but Fair)

I played some golf with Steven when he was a young fella and the comments about his talent and very true. He always had that look in his eye that he was "somewhere else"

Obviously he was, I wish him all the best.
