Club match play 3 up 4 to play

15th opponent blades it into the bunker wall, pops up in the air, lands on a mound and rolls down to the hole (loss)
16th Chip it stiff, opponent chips in for eagle (loss)
17th Opponent gets up and down from nowhere (loss)
18th Opponents approach going way left and OB, hits overhanging branch and bounces to 8ft, drops putt (loss)

Played the last four in one under and lost. Opponent plays last 4 in 3 under plus has 3 shots...Defeat from the jaws of victory. Wish i was the club handicapper.

I feel your pain I was in a similar situation last weekend leading by three on 14th tee when opponents miracle rebound off a tree to less than a metre from the hole spurred a major recovery ... Ahhh the unique stresses of match play !!

Crappy way to loose the match.
What's the saying "a$$ beats class"?

Yep better to be lucky than good.

I just signed up for our summer matchplay knockout. Love matchplay.

I usually turn 3-4 up and than fight on the last to force a continue...LOL....

I feel your pain and hope my Matchplay does not go that way.

If the guy had three shots in the last 4 holes he is obviously 15 shots or more worse handicap than you.

You should have nailed him long before the 15th!

We lost on the 20th on Sunday, after having to give one opponent 16 shots.

On the way around, he mentioned that when he left South Africa (and was playing regularly), his handicap was 14 shots lower than the handicap he was given here.
