Nuffie and I will book temporarily on Ellenbrook for Saturday and Lakes on Sunday. We should all be able to play PGN on Sunday. The maybe a Saturday comp on Ellwnbrook too.

Will try to get $35/head by inviting Vines members for each group. Otherwise, around $70. Carts will be a further $20/head.

How many people do we need for placeholders?

Will get pricing for accommodation at Vines and Oasis once there is a head count.

..................We should all be able to play PGN on Sunday. .................

PGN comp is normally on Ellenbrook on a Sunday so we would most likely need to play Lakes Saturday, Ellenbrook Sunday if you wanted the option to play in the prestigious PGN comp on the Sunday.
Although with the high level connections we have at the club, I'm sure they could arrange for those who are members of other clubs to play in whatever comp the Vines is running on each day if they so desired.

In terms of the weekend activities, I propose the following:
Swan Valley Info - http://www.swanvalley.com.au/Home

Option 1 -
I will contact the Vines to see what kind of "Stay and Play" packages they'd have for the Friday-Saturday nights. May include the breakfast.
Friday - LK, Joondalup, Sun City, WA Golf Club
All courses are about 40 mins drive fro the Vines.

Afternoon - Chequers for 9 and BBQ onsite. Alcohol is cheap. They could do night golf if we're motivated enough. Chequers is 15 minutes from Vines.

Saturday - Vines.
Afternoon - Supagolf and then Elmars, Feral, Mash etc.

Sunday - Vines
Afternoon - Pool, tennis, BBQ onsite in members area.

idgolfguy
26th January 2014, 02:05 PM
I've split post for easier comprehension.

Option 2 - Stay at the Oasis on West Swan as it has a pool and rates were reasonable from what I remember.

Saturday - Vines.

Sunday - Vines

With the Oasis option, on Saturday, we only have to drive back from the Vines -about 10 mins away from Oasis. All the breweries, wineries, Supagolf and restaurants are walking distance. They will be those who want McD, KFC, HJs, Dominoes, Eagle Boys, Subway, Nandos etc. These are 10 min drives from either accommodation.

The Vines only has a Saturday comp on Lakes on Saturday. It's usually fully subscribed. They also do an Ellenbrook comp on that day for overload. On Sunday, PGN has its comp on Ellenbrook.

On Saturday, we'd have to play Ellenbrook, leaving Lakes for Sunday. Unfortunately, can't do other way around based on current setup.

15.36 is the first tee-of on Lakes on Sunday.

I can also ask if they could add an extra 3 groups at the end of afternoon tee-off. Don't fancy our chances, though.

Just going to try to book slots on the course now for us.

Have we got a course for the Nully?

If there is interest, the skins game could be played at Chequers as night golf. Balls would be glow in the dark etc.

I would have to confirm from the club to organise the game and BBQ there for dinner. The drinks are cheap. Almost Bottle-shop prices.

You won't lose a ball! You see it hit high in the tree and watch it fall down. It was played over 9 holes with lamps at the tees and on greens. Each group carries a lamp as well.
Some Par 4 holes are shortened to about 240M. Par 5 remained the same. Perhaps, we can get a some of us to plan the course to play.

The proviso is that I can talk the club into running it again.

If it does happen. I'll organise a trailer to take the clubs there and back so that we'll only need a couple of cars. Chequers is 15 mins from the Vines.

Well when you lose 2 on a par 3 and don't make the ladies doing it at kwinana you know you need a truck load, so that's what I'm taking

Hello All
Thinking about capping this event to 24 OZgolfers and 6 Vines members to keep the cost to $35/head for each round. At this stage about 3 members/reciprocal are Ozgolfers already. The other three members have played Ozgolf events previously.

I'd like to book this in as soon as possible as the playing slots are filling up early.
