Heading to play The hills at Jimboomba tomorrow with a group from our club.. Lots of people talking about how long it is etc.. anyone played there? I cant seem to find a course guide online anywhere.

Just want to see what all the talk is about before heading out blind tomorrow and probably raising the bat.

It is only long if you play off the backs (the blues), which are way back. Off the normal comp/social tees (whites) it is only 6127m vs 6906m off the blues.

Played on Saturday. Only long if playing off the backs.

Massive shortage of water out that part of town, so dont expect lush rolling fairways, but in not bad nick at the moment.
Bunkers out there are basically a write off, but the greens as good as I've seen them for a long time.

Warning..you will get a fair bit of run, play hybrid off the second.

Every time I am out at Jimboomba I go out and have a look at the course. I have yet to see it green. It looks like the driest place on earth.

I played the blue roo last week,

Easy as 10 on number 2,

2iron off the tee
2iron OOB
2iron OOB
2iron water hazard
Hit on
2putts
10

Then had a double on 4

8 over through through 4, ended up 14 over, not bad considering the start I thought, not good, but not bad

Yep. Not much fun trying to gauge distance of the tee when it's dry either.

When you have played at Mt Warren Park for a number of years, you learn how to bump and run.

Life's too short to play stupid courses. Sounds like this one deserves to be a housing estate.

No, it is more a cow paddock, especially when the farmer next door's cattle get on it.

Damn, the pats made the bunkers and greens more interesting!

I don't know about you, but I find their bunkers interesting enough without the pancakes.

Might go out there again one day. When it is not so hot.

Greenside bunkers all good now, lots of soft sad to hide the golf ball.

I have been at hills for 10 years and reckon the 2nd shot is the hardest approach I have ever played. Green between 150 and 210 out and only 20 mts wide with ob 5mts left and down hill hazard on right.

Hey Shrek, maybe you can help me with a couple of things that are puzzling me...

That incident thing hanging of a tree on the 8th tee, WTF is that all about?
Also, who actually owns the course?

Thanks in advance.
