I'm planning to go back to Canon gear for Christmas/birthday, so selling my D60.

Excellent condition, comes with UV filter, the stock VR 18-55 lens, lens cap, strap, 2 batteries (one genuine, one aftermarket), battery charger, 8GB Sandisk SD card and Lowepro bag. No users manual, but it's easy to use. 3487 actuations (I uploaded my most recent photo to www.myshuttercount.com to determine this number)

Great little camera if you have kids or teenagers for whom a point and shoot won't cut it.

Based on eBay prices I'll start at $220 posted. Not interested in golf trades.

I'll take a pic or 2 if need be, but the camera and lens are near new...

Bought it about 2 1/2 years ago, Pep. I could probably dig out the invoice...it was in my bookcase earlier in the year.

New or used?

Missus wants a DSLR but I dunno how often she'd use it :) So maybe a used one to see how she goes first might be a goer... let me have a look at this model and get back to you. I was probably gonna get a Canon because they just seem to make awesome gear but let me have a look...

'Twas brand new.

And having done both the Canon and Nikon thing, there's bugger all difference fundamentally. This stock Nikon lens gets great reviews, mainly because it has image stabilisation whereas the Canon stock 18-55 of the time didn't.

D60 was a really nice camera. Great buying at that price.

At this level, the Nikon were slightly better than Canon IMO. Downside of Nikon D40 and D60 was no inbuilt AF motor, so some of the older Nikon lenses couldn't autofocus. Not a major issue, but it means spending nearly $250 for a 50/1.8 prime (must purchase), versus less than $150 for Canon if you want autofocus (you do).

Does this one have autofocus? :)

It is true that there are some non-Nikon branded lenses and older Nikon ones where autofocus isn't available, but any AF-S lens (which the stock lens is) autofocuses just fine. So with this one you can rely on autofocus.

Just thought I'd clear that up and avoid any confusion. :)

Nope. No different to using a compact camera really.

There are packages where you can get the 2 lenses, yep. This one only had the camera body and the 18-55 lens. Just did a Google search and the 55-200's are on sale at Kogan for $129 + post...
