I think Ferrins is a cheat. He farms his handicap.

When I met him he was off 5. The only way you go from 5 to double digits is if you have a disability or cheat.

He definitely does have a disability.

Tiger Ham was off +4 and went to 23. I believe he falls into the disability category.

They would be the highest average stab points I have ever seen at a Champs.
Going to be a close tussle tomorrow by the looks.

I don't think we have had a course play easier. If it helps we played gold which rates 2 under and with bunkers out that would have to be another 2 shots so really 40pts was playing to hcp

No way. Maybe for longer markers. 71 off the bat for me would still be way under handicap.

Lefty rating doesn't lie

I know at my last three courses gur bunkers were an automatic 2 off the rating... The glades may be different but that still has 38pts as hcp

I thought the club could apply for an tempory adjusted rating if the bunkers where out for a period of time.

Ratings do lie. They lie all the time.

Simple fact is that I was in 1 bunker for the day. That doesn't make the course 2 shots easier.

Did the club go forwards or backwards to end up in there?

I thought the club could apply for an tempory adjusted rating if the bunkers where out for a period of time.I think you are right but it has to be done for each time they are out. Just because that was the rating this time does not allow you to use that rating next time they are out. And each course rating is considered on its merits. May be two shots at course A but only one shot at course B or no effect at course C. Total number of bunkers on the course is a factor as well.

As I said forget my bunkers comment and just look at the rating off the gold tees and its 38pts

Anyway it was some good scores for a first round champs

Better quality golfers this year.

Or more sandbaggers.

Scores at Kooralbyn were just as high for the leading group. Short course and soft greens is always going to bring the middle of the field up a bit, except Solarman.

7 of my last 10 rounds are flagged and I'm playing off my anchor. Pretty ordinary sandbagging.

Bunkers are often an advantage for a good golfer. Front tees, no bunkers equals a higher marker paradise.
