My fren has a Ignite 460cc (0.350 tip) that he wants to reshaft with a prolite (0.335 tip)...

the club guy here can't do it coz he doesn't have the adapter...whatever that is...

I may have read it here or somewhere else...is it okay to use a shim???
I think I read that a piece of coke can acts as a good shim, and can do the job pretty good...

Advisable???

i wouldn't advise using a piece of Coke can.. but hey, that's just me

Using a shim is the way to go, doesn't affect the performance of the club in any way.

I can't believe the guy in your pro-shop can't do it for you though :?

Fly wire, you know, off your fly screen (well, maybe someone elses flyscreen) .

Ferrule should be fine at .335, should fit against the hosel fine.

I've heard plenty of times of the coke can trick.

More specifically, I used to hear that the pull off tab from the old style cans were a great shim. I don't see any problem shimming an Ignite... if it were a Cally it would be a different story.
