Can someone one who knows how to use game book help me. I put in my home course and stated a practice round and all the scores seem wrong? Fail I can't find the slope rating either

I'll give you a quick run through. Gamebook is actually quite simple to use but the major thing to really make it work is to only have one person responsible for each group (unless there are multiple people in a group that are friended up, but we'll ignore that in this instance).

When you set up the course just follow the prompts and enter the par and rating for each hole. Pretty self explanatory stuff. It will then ask for tee colour and slope - I ignore the slope and just leave it on the defaul because it is irrelevant.

Take note of the join code (top RH corner), you'll need this for later.

The next step is to add in the other members of your group. Either scroll through your friends list or previous temporary players to add someone you have played with before. To add a new player just tap "create player" an enter their name, handicap and gender. Next step is to choose the type of competition. Just tap the arrows on the side to scroll through to the type of competition you are after.

That's pretty much it. From there tap "start game" to get underway. Give the game code to one member of each group and they are responsible for adding the members of their group and scoring.

I can't stress this enough - only have one person responsible for each group. Too many cooks and all that...

You will only see scores for other groups if they were already entered when you join. The simple way around that is to end your game and then tap "play golf". It will automatically find the game that you have already set up and will update the number of players and groups.

That's pretty much it. If I have forgotten something I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I find that setting the Side Game to 'none' resolves some issues with the scores not displaying correctly.

You can also use their new online game manager on a computer to setup game quickly.

after bagging the app, it was so Good on the Weekend just gone, looking at the running leaderboard and keeping track of scores was brilliant and recommend it for a tournament like this.

SMS failed setting up a tournament though to keep track of the progressive scores across both days:razz:

I agree Shades. It was good. They are a bit lazy with updates though, especially the fact that the latest one yesterday still doesn't use the full screen on an iPhone 5 and instead has two grey bars down the sides.

Hopefully now that IMG is investing in the app, this will change quickly.

Some won't like it, but it works well. One person to put scores in, you can see them on your own phone.

If you don't have access, go out of the game and come back in. Seems to fix those kind of problems.

Seems to have worked for me. Are we able to go into games that haven't happened yet and add players if people sign up to Gamebook in the meantime? E.g. 3puttpete in my group on Monday, if he was to sign up, can we take out the 3puttpete name and put in his real Gamebook profile?
