For older scottys is there anyway to show there authenticity as they dont have the laser engraved number.

Thats what I thought. Being a serious collector do you know if there were many fakes in the early 2000s of the oil can or black pearl models?

You'd have to post a link or pic mate, but in general no.
The fakes really started rolling in 2005 with the Studio Style models.....

Should authentic black finished golo's lose their finish simply by inserting and removing in/from the headcovers?

Serious question... How can I have scratches, which can only be from the Velcro within the cover, absolutely astounds me!

My sante fe tei3 that I have used for 5 years solid has only just lost the black finish on the sole. Pretty durable finish.
