If I am playing golf over the Easter break it will more than likely be at the Sunshine Coast Open Easter Championship at Headland GC, as A-Lo and I did last year. (http://ozgolf.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1714)

I'll be doing the normal trip to Hervey Bay for Easter, so will have little chance of breaking out to Middle Ridge (unfortunately).

$35 per player.
I'm sure the 2-day comp at headland will be no more than $34 per person.

Ap $35 has been for 3 comp rounds in the past.

headland who be interesting but shazza & I have family in Toowoomba so it makes sense for us.

headlands is not a QGU/WGQ event

I'm pretty sure it is actually. It's at least an AB event anyway.

Assuming I've re-joined city by then I'll put myself in as a maybe, but I'd only be playing one day.

mate, why don't you just get one of the $99-129 memberships just to retain your handicap? If you're only playing occasionally, it's not worth dropping $400 per year just to "belong" to a club. You could always rejoin City at a later date, if you resign in writing.

Should only be a month or two (or 3) before I can afford to join again. The half year fee is probably ony $220 or $250. I can't do the $99 thing anyway. If I could've done that I'd have found double to to pay the full fees.

I've negotiated the option to play our monthly medal each month (if I have a gig that weekend then I just play another day) and also the friday black marker each month teeing off early so I can still get to work at a reasonable hour. Of course I'm not a member at the moment (dag nabbit).

Geez, tough boss you got there. Even I manage to get out once or twice a month for golf mate. You have a moral imperative as the owner and founder of a GOLF forum to keep your skills up.

Would love to make a return to the Ridge but alas not possible at that time of the year.

Great memories of that fantastic golf course played some of the best golf of my life when I was a member at the Ridge.

Not trying to big note but I won 4 consecutive Matchplay Champs and even held the Amateur Course record of 64. I wonder if it still stands.

Memories are great; perhaps I should keep them as just that.

Have fun, great course, great people in Toowoomba.

The course should be in good nick and setup nice.

The Australian junior Amateur Champioship is on the week before (6-9 April)

No chance Pete. Those arrogant little upstarts will leave the place looking terrible. Not many of the little ba$tards ever fill a divot or repair a pitch mark :?

they aren't cleaning up after them..... just following them round to make sure they are filling divots and repairing pitch marks.

the club isn't actually paying the minders..... caring members have volunteered.

Here is the link for the nomination form.

Goughy I don't know if there is a split fee for sat and sun... guess you could always ring the club and find out.

Played there on saturday and the course is in really good nick. I even enjoyed golf even though I played like crap.

Rang the club today. They prefer you to play both days and seems the fee is the same regardless. Makes it a bit rich for my blood for one round. Sorry guys. I'm out. I'll have to catch ya's another time up here.

Okay here are the results from my days......

1st day
101/84..... played like crap

2nd day
100/82..... played like crap

Once again my home course eats me up and spits me out.

Congrats to pete.... I'll let him tell you all about it.
Pete has made the teens for hcp..... go pete!
;)

peter_rs
18th April 2006, 08:48 AM
Ok results for the two days
CCR 71+72=143

Peter_rs 71+69=140
Nathan Ubergang 72+80=152
Shazza_rs 84 +82 =166

New hcp 19.1, I played ok and held it together for not one but two stroke rounds in a row on a course that kills me. Happy I didn't lose it after blow out holes boths days. like a 4 putt on the first hole of the second day for a triple.

peter_rs

It was great, and better being stroke and getting the hcp down to 19.1.

I think it killed me for the monday as I was expecting to much. I found out the result 10min before I hit of in the match play against shazza.

I thought in these events you could only win one major prize, in your case the 36 hole nett. The Sunday nett would then go to 2nd best nett.

That's been the case in the few 36 hole comps I've played.

peter_rs
18th April 2006, 11:40 AM
That was the case last year.

But this year the daily trophies and two day title were considered different, with the exception if the one person won all 3 titles.
