Nuffie, or should I say el capitan, I'm still getting my cap sorted. Need to hand in a couple of cards over the next two weeks. But assuming I play relatively consistently compared to my recent social rounds, I reckon I will be off somewhere in the vicinity of 18-20.

Just have to beat your opponent on each hole.
The best score out of your team counts vs the other team.

You were paired to give guidance. Help the brother out. It is impossible to work out where he is going to take driver on from Google maps. Personally, I would recommend that the driver stays in the boot of the car for Shorty at The Cut. He might be able to get away with it once or twice on the second half of the front 9 and maybe 14 & 15.

Great call. I feel blessed to paired with the gent who 10 months ago I said this about...
Rubin and Jeffo. The purest ball strikers I've seen for 18 'cappers.
My sly tip to take out the trophy.
Simmsy loves when his opponent stripes ball after ball down the fairway with deadly accurate 5 yard baby fade precision...
Such a shame that he won't have an opponent capable of doing that this year.

To be fair, it only happens 80% of the time one first tees, and 10% of the time on other tees. It's not like it happens every hole.
I have a question on your first hole issues:
Has a brief range session prior to tee off worked to solve the problem in the past? I.e knowing you'll hit driver on the first for example, hitting 10-20 driver shots on the range prior to tee off?

TommyG & Ashes
NK & Mubabban

you playing on this weekend princess, or you have to do the ironing?
I hoped to come to Friday but I have a corporate day at Joondy on the Thursday and can't take the piss with Friday off too :(
Saturday and Sunday I'll be flat out ironing - good pick up!

Interesting.I say we take em off the blacks Jeffo!I'm assuming it's generally pretty windy there? Sounds good to me. The one time I've played there I was blessed with a beautiful day. Hopefully get the same!

Weather conditions on the day may dictate. I played it once in a howling easterly (non prevailing wind) that made things interesting...

Ok, to clarify the way the matches were selected, yes I nominated them last night due to numerous requests to have them finalised.
Referring to id's earlier comment, three potential matches were discussed by a few guys and as the anticipation of them happening created a bit of excitement, I decided it was best to go with those and then set up the other two matches.
But as is inevitably the case if the whole selection is not done randomly, it leaves the situation open to speculation that some matches may be set up strategically.
So, I propose this - As Ozgolf should be about fun golf, whilst quite often meeting/having a round with different ozgolfers (what I mean is ones that people dont always golf with) AND if anyone or any team wins something, then its a great bonus:
The North and South teams are already chosen.
In the spirit of this theme, I reckon we should randomly pick pairs AND then randomly pick matches.
This removes any potential for parties to infer that matches are set up strategically.
We could get some crazy matchups. But hey, lets make it more fun and fair if that's what the contingent prefers.

The matches are fine Nuff. You are over thinking it.
Start working on your team pre game speech.

Wasn't attempting to overthink the matchup process. Just trying to get everyone on board and make it fairest for everyone, based on feedback.
My speeches are pretty low key these days. A very LONG 21st bday speech changed all that :)

That's fine Nuff. The only match up that shouldn't change is the pie eater and the Alaskan.
You put all the Northerners in a hat, I will do the same for the better players, I mean the Southies and draw one out at a time and then we'll publish them.
