This year target to get to 9.4. Best was 10.6. Blew out to 14.6 about 2 months ago. Back to 12.0 downwards for another try.

I am currently off 3.5. I am moving to within 5 minutes of my new course so plan to practice at least 3 times a week and get back to 2 by christmas.

Want to get to 12 by the end of the year. Down to 14 which is my lowest and am playing better but need to work on the shortgame and putting to stop the doubles and 'others' that wreck the otherwise good rounds.

Goal is 5. Was on 2 a little over a month ago, currently 3.8. Still going strong.

13 by B grade champs.

Yep, that sounds good.

I am off 8 even right now, I was anchored on 8, but as I hadn't played for 12 months I can now go out to 13.

Awesome! Going from 4-8 in 12 months, now I'm back and can actually go back to double figures.

Aim was single digits by end of the year, started at 12 got down to 6 now back to 9 after not much practise in last few months

Nothing personal but I still can't believe blokes can have a hcp higher than 27. Fair enough if you're disabled in some way or an older bloke but if you can't play to 27 I think tuff titties, practise like the rest of us or play another sport

I'd like to be able to beat my uncle regularly.

I dont currently have a handicap but I would think if I was around 20, I'd beat him. He hits about 42-45 around 9 at Camden Lakeside, so not sure what that equates to as a handicap.

Need a membership but cash is short at the moment.

Was just starting out so played pretty ordinary.. I couldn't even play to 34 for my first month but I agree with Jado .. it was too high. It almost doesn't make it worth playing when you need atleast 45 points to win a comp in C grade each week. But its amazing what a few lessons and new golf clubs will do with some practise.

I disagree (to a point, max 27).
Thats fair for guys just starting out.
Once they get going and play reg you see their h/caps tumble down....

a mate of mine has signed up at my club. after getting his hcp his exact is 36.4 he has no chance of hitting that at the moment. first 3 rounds went 144,142,138(course is par 71). although he is gradually improving it will be along time before he plays to his cap, and to be honest he may never make it to 27 but he enjoys his golf and wants to do well so if a 36 cap helps him so be it.

i returned to golf in march off 15 with a goal of 9 by the end of the year, currently off 13

By the end of the year, back to single figures... Preferably back to 6 or 7 at least. It's going to take work, I don't know what changed in my game that blew it out so much, but after resisting for 20+ years I think it's time to have a proper lesson.

start of the year had an initial goal of 12 (was on 18/19).

Since then, lack of golf, time and opportunity has seen me revise my goal, and would like to drop it a few more shots to 14 (15.9 atm). I think I could maintain a 14, play some (relatively) consistent golf when i get a chance to and be able to enjoy it.

if someone is hitting 42 round 9 on a par 72 course, what handicap do we think they would be sitting on?

I have nfi how to work it out myself.

Double it and subtract par

So about roughly 12, without taking into account all the other crap (ACR)

Hoping I won't be far off the scratch mark.

Somewhere in the region of 15-18 by the end of 2014. Hoping to play more regularly, although I'll still have bugger all time to practise so don't know how that'll go.

My ultimate handicap?

Did see a doco on amputee fetishes, would like to investigate further.

To play to what mine actually is, since rejoining after having 5 years off. Most of my flagged rounds are from 2008, but I've got about 6 or so round to lose off my 20 to get to my second last falgged one. So I don't see my hc changing much for the next few months unless I actually improve!

Goal would be to get down to 5.

Currently off 9, just started playing again, just started back with lessons and may even practice my short game (maybe!)

brian
26th October 2013, 11:44 AM
Goal is to stay on single figures, as I only get to play comp once a month and no practice in between (21/7 roster and 2 young kids). Surprisingly I am playing better golf now than when I played twice a week ( but I will never admit that to the wife).

Yossarian
26th October 2013, 12:11 PM
Go Yoss.

How about 11? Yeah! However I have never really managed to play to anything below 12, when taking ACR into consideration.

It's in the short game now to break through into singles. But as simmsy pointed out I had 3 * 3 putts yesterday while playing to 12. So if I can remove a couple of those and tighten the wedge game...

I have been off ten or 11 for two years now workout evercracking single figure. It is still my goal Mmm, it is the dream to play off singles but I do feel like I may have plateaued.

Yoss, you don't need that much "game" to play off high single figures. Just play smart and have a decent short game. It works for me.

goughy
26th October 2013, 01:56 PM
That's it yoss. I watched jaster in a 36 hole matchplay spend the whole day out hitting the +3 marker with everything from driver and irons, inlcuding almost always being inside him on approach shots. But he still lost with 2 to play because the other guy putted like a nut and chipped and played bunkers out of sight. Short game can save you so many shots.

Waddzy
26th October 2013, 05:39 PM

Thanks mate , down to 12.5 after today now too.. Was lots of practice early on . No practice now but learning where to miss and managing the blow ups a lot better now.. Keeping triples or worse off the card saves more shots than making birdies.. Bring on singles.. Don't think I have the game for singles yet either but need plenty more practice .

Go out from 12 to about 15/16. Out to 14 so far. Happy days.

You are setting too low a goal. Model yourself off Ferrins - aim for 21. Those double shot holes would be awesome to have up your sleeve.

Started on 32 12 months ago, tgt was 20 by the end of the season, but looks like I'll be stuck on 22. Just couldn't get it together enough to go down those last 2 shots. Maybe next year I can get there, or just be content with the shit game and get more shots of ashes next year
