Ok seeing as we have a top 5 list, how about a list of courses that you want to play.
In Sydney
1. The Lakes
2. Royal Sydney
3. Long Reef
4. Terry Hills
5. The Australian

There are others but these are the priorities.

Others around Australia in no particular order
Bonville
Pacific Dunes
Narooma
Pambula-Merimbula
Royal Canberra
Federal
Any melb sandbelt course
Brookwater
Royal QLD
most of the Gold Coast courses as I have only played the Glades.

Royal Sydney
NSW
Bonville
Sanctuary Cove
Royal Melbourne

Honorable mention: Any of those extreme Mornington Peninsula courses. Not asking for much?

You lot are boring, most of these wishlists are somewhat 'predictable' Back In 1998 I responded to the same thread on the internet, and my list hasnt changed much

>St Andrews Old
>Gleneagles
>Imperial Klub Golf, Tangerang, Indonesia
>Clearwater Bay, Hong Kong
>Lakelands, Australia

No idea why i chose lakelands - not even in the same class  Now Replace that with Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand. Tom Ramsey said this is the best golf course in the southern hemisphere. http://www.capekidnappers.com/course.html

St Andrews needs no explanation and Gleneagles I have seen on Tv so much i always wanted to play it.

of my top 5, Imperial Klub Golf this is the only one that I am ever likely to play, and when i do I'll play it a lot. It is a radical and visually stimulative Desmond Muirhead design and only $20-30 for green fees. And Jarro will be especially impressed with the "Madonna Hole, nicknamed for obvious reasons (you gotta see the pic) http://www.imperialklubgolf.com/index_sub.asp?fuseaction=Course
Still up for the asian odyssey mate? those caddies look alright.....

The temple hole.

Clearwater Bay like Cape Kidnappers has terrain that needs to be seen to be believed (makes Pebble beach look like an airport runway)

i'll stick with Australian courses as its too hard to narrow internationals to 5.

1. Kingston Heath
2. Barnbougle Dunes
3. NSW
4. National Old
5. National Moonah

All of these barring NSW should be knocked over by mid 2006 and the only thing stopping me from a game at NSW is the fact that I rarely visit Sydney and if i get a work trip there its usually just for the day.

of course my numer 1 and 2 internationally would be Pine Valley and Cypress Point.

Too many courses worldwide I would like to play so will stay with Australasian courses.

1. Barnbougle Dunes.
2. Cape Kidnappers.
3. Royal Melbourne (East, West, Composite) not fussy.
4. Royal Sydney.
5. Joondalup Resort (Quarry/Dunes Cse)

both good courses, just plenty are better. Then again the plenty I'm talking about you may have already played.

I'm going to keep my golf wish list to those I will realistically have a chance of playing:

Royal Melbourne
Barnbougle Dunes
New South Wales
Bonville
Laguna Whitsundays (Turtle Point)

...and not one of them close to another.

There are plenty of others I want to play, but the above would be those I'd most like to experience.
