View Full Version : Appleby 3 -Peat?

Does anyone rate Stuart Appleby a chance for a 3 - peat at the Mercedes Championship in Hawaii this weekend. The course obviously sets up well to his game and, with a couple of the big names giving the tourney a miss this year the field I believe is reduced to 29. [-X

I'm tipping he'll follow Lonard in his quest for a hat-trick (ie: fail). As much as I'd love to see him win, I don't feel that he will.

Apples form hasn't been that flash hot in the past month...

pity Allenby isn't in the field...would have love to see if his game is still red-hot or not...

tipping Vj to take this one...

I think Apples will do ok but not win, Top 10 finish. Could be a winner from right field though.

Leading by 2 after 3 rounds he is certainly making a good fist of his defence of the title regardless of what happens tomorrow. :smt026

Disregard this quote as I must have been dreaming, it looks as if the only person that can beat Apples at Kapalua is Apples. Hope he gets through it, Kapalua just might be his track and he will own this tournament until they move it. What other Pro players have had a course where they are almost unbeatable? Don't say Tiger @ Augusta!

not if Apples keeps making pars and bogeys.....

I think it was on telly couple of years ago...one of the commentators highlighted his coil being one of the main reason for his distance...

something to work with (I've been trying it after watching Allenby on telly last month)...keeps your swing in balance too...not like Cambo who always seems to fall out of balance after each whack with the driver...
