Eags - how much is Virginia membership versus say Nudgee???

They're only 5 minutes apart and there are 36 holes and lots of ozgolf members at nudgee... :?

Just my 2 cents sorry.

Just had a sticky beak at Virginia's website (http://www.virginia-golf.com.au/main.htm)
Nomination $300
Subscription $870 (+ levies?)

Nudgee's website doesn't tell you anything.

Jarro

Nudgees nomination fees are around $800.

i think this is a deciding factor :wink:

Dion, I would of loved to join Nudgee with the other guys already there but $1500 is just to steep for me.

Virginia is closer and $500 less in nomination fees plus I really enjoy playing there :)

I love the course, there are some top holes on both 18's in my opinion.

Played Macarthur Grange this morning.
87 off the stick :lol: with an 8 on the 4th :?
Nett 67 :lol:
40 points :lol:

Had longest drive on the 10th when I left but the big hitters were still to play. Ballstriking was awesome, very happy with all round game. Left a few putts short early but got it in order to score well on the back nine. Hopefully carry the form into tomorrow. :wink:

They must be the 5 hole you scored points on the last time you played there...right nah, last time I played there it was a stroke round and I had Net 87 :P

But I've never really liked the course, had plenty of good ronds there as a young fella - so its not due to my recent poor score there.

I just don't like the layout, the bunkering is crap, the greens are repetitive and there isn't much strategy. A few strategic bunkers and reshaped greens would make it much better, as its not a bad piece of land really.

Played Mac Grange this morning for a horrible 100, nett 81. Ballstriking with Irons was pretty good but the chipping and putting was woeful. Had 5 pars in the round :?

Started off with a great drive followed by a poor chip followed by another & another and 3 putts for a 7 :shock: That set the tone for the day. Enough said, my first day with no 2 in my handicap will not be remembered for anything special :?

Walked off the course after 9 holes this morning. I have an aversion to lightning and thunder when carting 14 lightning rods and an umbrella.
Had 50 shots to there as well, so that didn't help. Still parred 2 holes, but hit some awful stuff too.

First round of 2006 and I was pretty happy! Shot 100/78 at Macarthur Grange but that included 2 birdies (par 4, par 5) but a 9 :oops: and a fair few 7s :roll: .

I think that 3 months off has sent my golf swing haywire - more practice is on the cards I think.

An immensely frustrating day with the OzGolfers at Macarthur Grange today. Hit the ball Ok, a bit of a mixture of good shots, bad shots and great recovery shots, good chipping and woeful putting. 31 points was a fair enough score.

Fairways = 8 of 12
Greens in Reg = 9 of 18
Putts = 35, 5 three putts :( , no birdies
Up and Down = 6 of 9.
1 penalty shot.

83 off the stick for 34 points at Macarthur Grange this morning. Highlight of the day was seeing Amanda's 2 birdes.

Couple of personal highlight were 2 putted from about 40m and an eagle on a Par 5. Also upseted Jono because he is still on the green when the second shot roll onto the green.

Score - 8 shots worse than average
Putting - 7 shots worse than average
Fairways - 1 less than average
GIR - 2 less than average

Virginia is the who's who of qld golf - you only mentioned the internationally renowned guys. Seemed that most of the best golfers were members at Virginia

Not so much these days, the best golfers spread themselves around a bit now, because most are under 18 and then they turn pro quicker.

Played at Gailes today in the open medley stab.

Hacked my way round for a miserable 27 points.

Highlights of the round
-birdie on the 3rd.
-picked up a ntp on the 12th for three balls.

Pete had 39points, didn't play terribly well but managed to chop it round for that many points.

76 off the stick at Oxley today, which was nice as I hadn't gad a good game for a while. Played with a mate and we got around in just over 3 hours which was pretty good too.

Still hitting the driver left, but just allowed for it today until I can fix it.

Hit all 4 Par 3's in reg - so the new irons are going ok. Birdied 2,4 & 6. Lost a ball on 8 which killed my score and should have birdied 7 from where my tee shot was. played solid on the back 9 with 8 pars and one bogey which was a 3 putt and hit 8 of 9 GIR.

quietly please because I took the new irons to the range the other day and hated them so much they nearly went on e-bay. Gave them a chance on course and now I'm sticking with them for the moment. 3 or 4 times I hit it off-centre and noticed a massive difference from these compared to my Hogan blades where I would have been dead with a similar strike.

I just don't think it's a good idea to judge an iron after hitting them off the mats at the range

39 points at Gailes

Could have been better

93 of the stick
Fairways= 5
GIR=4
putts=30 (2x3putts)

1 bird, 3 missed bird putts I could not get the line or speed right on the greens.

I was hooking everything I even was hooking my LOB approaches, hit some pure shots with the CG10 wedges I was hitting my LOB 90m :oops: . The guy we played with said I made him sick how long I was hitting my irons (he hits driver about 150m)... Lucky the driver had and off day after the 1st which was 300m down the center.

I wonder what the new hcp will be after two rounds under my hcp on the weekend. :lol:

Don't assume that the Gailes card will go in. Their track record isn't great. You may have to chase them up.

Medal day at "home" club at Bathurst. Very average day that had the range of great to very ordinary. Great was the drive on 18 (started on 10) that went 288 to leave 103 to the hole. Parred the hole.

Very ordinary was par 5 15th. Monster drive down hill that catches branch to stop dead 255m from tee box. Unsighted for 2nd shot. Play 5 wd 2nd and playing partner thinks it lands up near greenside bunker. Get there and no ball. partner apologises as he should've been watching closer as asked (no shit sherlock). Go back to reload after searching and finish with a 7.

Still finished +7 over handicap due to poor reading of greens. Still waiting on card to be returned from pre XMAS bash that should have me playing off 17.

My form decline may have halted. I was chopping it around the front 9 as I have been the last 4 weeks, but then I discovered something and went around the back in +2. Of course, way too much damage had been done already, but I am feeling confident now that I know what the problem was. Bring on next week.

Saw the physio today. Bulging disk/ twisted pelvis/ one leg shorter than the other. They should just put me down... :roll:
