View Full Version : What to do when the Wife beats you...................

and no not physically.

So what an end to 2005. The following has just occurred:

(a) the Wife beats me off the stick for the first time ever.

(b) the Wife shoots 4 over par 76 at Camden Lakeside a week later. I believe her new handicap will be 9 (SHIT).

I have often said that when she finally beats me I would retire. Of course this was said in jest never expecting the event to actually occur. Now that it has, and she then backed it up with 76 (thankfully I shot a 75), it appears perhaps to be too drastic.

So other than retirement what are my courses of action:

(a) lots of lessons to ensure I stay ahead of her;
(b) completely new set of clubs for me (that must improve my game??);
(c) completely new set of clubs for her (in the hope it throws her off her game);
(d) other (pleae specify).

Still not the worst problem to have I don't suppose 8)

Pete's spot on. When all else fails, a bit of sledging is what you need to dish out! :twisted:

Miro she is giving some shots away in the comp at Mac Grange, apart from Amanda the lowest handicap women player at mac Grange is 24. Also there are a few ladies prizes in the comp.

Pete,

The day she beat me off the stick I was 4 shots down standing on the 18th tee. A couple of cunning insinuations led her to a triple -still good enough to beat me by one. It also led to a fair amount of verbal abuse!!

Mate she has no interest in Womens comps -she wants to beat everyone. Not a competitive bone in body! :roll:

No - the worst problem to have would be one of those "golf widow" wives who nags about how much time you spend playing golf and how much money you spend on golf equipment...... :roll: :lol:

I like to hear stories of wives beating their husbands off the stick, because somehow I know that I'll never beat my hubby :roll: .

The only thing to do would be b & c...... a if you really have too. :wink:

I look at it as more of a challenge to get better.

If you can't do it on your own then you need one of these:

Are you getting a red X? Or some other kind of image error?

Bruce,

Can't see the picture -which I am sure would shed some light on that currently somewhat underwhelming post. 8) :P

Buy her those "100 quick tips" type of golf mags/books. Guarenteed
to stuff up her swing.
