2006 Goals

Hi all

This may have been posted before, I did a search and could not find anything.

What are your golfing goals for 2006?


For me it is to further improve my golf down to a solid B Grade player and get below 14. It is a bit more conservative than this year but I know it is harder to improve as you get lower in the handicap ranges.

Don't know if numbers are the best thing to search on.

I searched on '2006 goals' and it brought up this thread and the other one. Probably just needed to narrow the search a bit more.

On which holes and for how many holes?

I want to achieve the following results this year. On a par 72 course, I'd like to have an even par 9, have a 78 in a comp, a 75 in a social game, and get down to a 10 handicap.

Reduce 3 putts to less than 1 per round
Increase average GIR to 8 - this year 4.4
Increase average fairways hit to 8 - this year 4.5
Reduce putting average to 30 - this year 33

i am going to try breaking less clubs than last year.

My main goal for this year is to get down to 8 :)

I'd like to play twice a month and visit some new golf courses (both posh & cheap).

play some swish courses, make some visits to a certain coach and get a new shaft for my 3 wood. Oh and work out how to hit the driver straight or i'd settle for straight'ish.

Oh, and regain my handicap, which has now lapsed.....

And maybe even join a club....

And possibly even lower my handicap.....

Goals for 2006.

1. I have committed and paid for a full lesson programme. We have set a handicap goal of 9.9 by Xmas '06 and after the first 2 lessons I am very confident of achieving my target.

2. Reduce the ho'ing

3. Play much more golf than in '05

4. Reduce the ho'ing

5. Much more structured practice (especiually during the lazy Winter months)

well i have to see for myself what 3driverseveryotherday is wetting his pants about

1) try not to shoot more than 10 rounds in the 80s on my home course...
2) try to break 80 on the 2 other courses here...
3) try to have more wins than 2nds/3rds this year in club comps...

all else fails, hit more fairways... :lol:
