Now I know these kinda threads get a run each year
around this time,I normally stay out, but today's jibber
on CH7 has pushed me off the couch

Nobody appreciates local golf on free to air
more than me,but are these guys taking the piss?

"It's on the dance floor but nowhere near the band"

"It's in the Mayor's office"

It's moving day being saturday"

Heard any other krusty golden gems these past few days?
Please share.Maybe it'll be good therapy for us all to
talk about it

C'mon guys, these threads are usually thrashed around on the other site.

Compared to the USPGA coverage and the boring as hell Pommie coverage, what we have is great.

Just somebody please shut up Sandy Roberts.

I thought the best ever comment on Australian golf was Terry Gale commenting on a golfer who airmailed a green on a par 3 after been told the player hit a 5 iron which was obvious to any one as being 2 clubs too many.

""F#$%"

I had it on tape and replayed it many times, and its definitely what he said.

as for today i dont really mind. If i ever watch golf I dont watch it for what they say but rather to see the golfers.

Best comment I heard from Huntingdale was when Jack Newton was tandem skydiving onto the 18th on Saturday and some joker from the crowd yelled out "in the hole!!!". :D Preety good I thought.

Yeah, and I didn't hear him betting so many houses this year either....

But still, the one that caught my ear was "penultimate". It's like somebody just explained to them the meaning of the word - the "penultimate hole" the "penultimate group"...... and it was repeated ad nauseum each day of each tournament.

Maybe we could turn it into a drinking game.... you know - when you hear the work "penultimate" you have to down a shooter.....

Senden's not out of it yet -say B Ogle

Radar replies -He's Gone.

Thank god someone had the decency not to talk crap -Senden was 5 down with 5 to play I think a the time. Enough of the beat up to add excitement -it wasn't needed.

Ogle tried to say that he needed -4 in the last 7 holes. He then back pedalled (after Radar's comment), saying he absolutely had to birdie the next hole.

Nice work, if you can get it..........

Now I actually don't mind Brett....but yesterday he did
drop this re Bubba's swing.

"His swing looks like an octopus falling out of a tree"

C'mon

That remark has,and always will be,linked to Jim Furyk.
Another David Feherty classic  along with.........

"that ball is so far into the woods, if it was wrapped
in bacon, Lassie wouldn't even find it."

No no no, that was used to describe the bowling action of the South Africian leg spinner Paul Adams.

Really?? I always thought the Frog in a Blender was re: Furyk also.....

I like the Octopus one.....

We really need some better commentators here in Oz......

Forget paying appearance fees to golfers, let's pay an appearance fee for a decent commentator....
