There for a week...

Day 1. to buy replacement clubs lost in transit
Day 2 and 3. golf

Any advice as to what to do off the course? ( Don't gamble, and have wife with me)

And no MTB isn't my +1 for this!

How many free Srixon's have you received LL? Our family pets (dog & cat) recently opened their own email address and applied for some free balls. They were kind enough to hand the vouchers to me to collect. My mother and father in law have also given me their vouchers to collect.

Looks like i'll be using premo balls up in Bali when I play a couple of rounds there next month.

There are four permanent cirque du soleil shows in vegas and having seen all of them they're all great... if you're a Beatles fan, see "Love", otherwise I'd guess see "O"...

If you're a steak fan go to Cut at Palazzo, sushi go to Naked Fish (off the strip), Italian go to Il Mulino...

Shopping - Las Vegas Premium Outlets (North)

Drinking - start at Margaritaville and walk in any direction, you cant lose.

If you happen to want a bar that shows Australian sports, look up the Crown and Anchor.

For something a bit different, you can be a crash test dummie for new TV pilot shows at MGM. Wife and I did it for a laugh and got to critique the worst train wreck of a COPS rip off you could possibly imagine. Takes about an hour or so of your time.

Day 1 - Las Vegas Golf & Tennis - $15 taxi from the strip
Day 2 - Wolf Creek - you will kick yourself if you don't go - 1.5 to 2 hr drive
Day 3 - Rio Secco - better than Bears Best
Day 4 - Outlet shopping at the northern end
Day 5 - Helicopter over the grand canyon
Day 6 - Spanish Trail - was up until recently an exclusive private club
Day 7 - Cascata - have heard it is good.

Have no idea on cost of the courses as I played them on a package tour.

At night - Cirque De soleil O - at the Bellagio - AWESOME - followed by people watching.

Thats my 2 cents

In between here and there is pretty ordinary, lots of derelict (hope that's spelled right- 2.45am here) old motels from the 60's on the way. 12 hours sleep, pinkys hot dog was by far the soundest investment I have made thus far... $6 and the thing came back at me every hour on the hour for the rest of the day.

Bears Best, finally a place with no pokies , I will post pics when I get home, but nice start to the trip. Once the ball decides its had enough of the fairway youre playing off stuff like a quarry..apparently. First shot, bunted a safe three wood out of bounds which lead to a wash, no surprises there.
Had a nice run of pars going for a while. Tripped up on a couple, then the $4 buds won my heart. Awesome backdrop with the mountains,
Format is sing stab, thank christ, with 6 holes picked at random at the end. Top 6 scores go in playoff. Bloke in our group won the day.
Can remember something about getting on the bus, but thats about all...

Okay, things a little fuzzy but..

Played TPC las vegas the day before last, loved it. Fairly challenging, one hole had a 210m carry off the tee. A few holes had mini canyon/30 foot drops running through them. I took some pics that Il'll post when i get home, they don't do it justice though.
6 buds for $25 helped me around. 2 birdie putts horseshoed on me, before I got one on the last.
Yesterday did the second outlet complex, clothes and shoes cheap. Went to old vegas strip and that was AMAZING. Big long mall, covered in with dome lcd screen, music and light show awesome. Rock band on stage, table dancers, 99c beers and margaritas.
Today planning to sober up a little, bit of housekeeping and catch the hockey tonight.

Wolf creek today... UNBELIEVABLE set up.
Must say though, the putting green was shut, and the 200 yard range was pretty chopped up and the greens were a bit ordinary. I heard $350 was the green fee..
Cirque show LOVE, a beatles tribute show tonight was pretty cool.
Cascata tomorrow.

Today we played Cascata, my favourite course of the trip. $400 US for the round and $25 plus tips for compulsory caddie. The bloke did not stop running the hole time.
Course is owned by caesers palace, 12 years old and the caddie told us it's never turned a profit. It loses about a million dollars a year, with only around 60 players per day. The flowing waterfalls are all computer operated at a cost of 5 grand a day.
If you get a hole in one you keep the flag, get photos taken at the hole, big bottle of top shelf bubbly, they roll the red carpet out and drinks for the group are put on for the afternoon..needless to say, nothing from me.
When you get there, your locker has a plaque with your name on, that you keep at the end of your day.
They have a photo of a rattle snake that was on one of the greens a couple of days ago, so I tried to stay away from them as much as I could... with some success.
I made the last eight in the final playoff. Hit the best drive of the group to 96 metres out...then chunked it into the creek about 10 metres to the left of me. mmm.

Will never be back, but will definitely be the best course I'll ever play.

No, and yes it was the right fairway... Actually a lot tighter than what it looks, obviously
