That's great balance to be able to address the ball with only one foot on the ground...

Looks like it's contagious.

Btw, that's a fine effort with the pics, Tezza. It's amazing you had time to play any golf in amongst it all

I know this isn't a swing thread, but I am surprised at how far Pete drops when attacking the ball. Check out the hat in the first shot, in line with the fairway behind him, then it is well below the fairway line at impact. :?

Don't hold back now Pete !!!!!  8)

Thanks courty & 3oneday. that was hold back.

In the morning I don't blown all over the place with the r5, so I tried something different in the arvo dropped the fairway wood and used a second driver for into the wind holes.

The first was into the wind so I was just trying to hit a low stinger (cold after lunch).... hence the ball teed low and a 5* driver.  And the result if your interested was a low draw center of the fairway 260m off the tee. it must have worked as I had net 32.5 for the first nine, and jumped from second last to mid pack if only we played the last 9 holes

Great pics Tez.  So where is Kee to cap of the high hcp swings.

FIVE DEGREES !!*&%#!!!!   That's getting serious ...

Here's my suggestion which you can read with a grain of salt. You've got a natural, athletic swing and plenty of clubhead speed. My guess is that if you toned down your swing a little (ie. shorter backswing, not so much head movement, not so much leg drive on the downswing), you'll still get the ball plenty far out there and in return get much more accurate. Few of your drives on the West Course were blocked out right (I counted 4 or 5) and I think you were lucky to find them all. Your iron play and short game is very good and deserves a much better handicap than your current one. After watching you play, I can't help but think that you can drastically cut down your handicap if you toned your driver swing down a bit and hit more fairways. I'm talking about getting down to single figures by this time next year. 8) How about an early retirement as a Long Driver and becoming ... a GOLFER?

Thanks Jono that you think the rest of my game is any good.

And calling some of those drives block and not slices is too nice.

In the Sat round I backed off my swing and was hitting a nice little draw about 260m hit 14 fairways  with 34 putts but still had a 95. My game is built around recovery shots not hitting fairways. From fairways my swing falls appart (mental) because I have too many options and I don't commit as much as I should, compared to say trying to hit a low running hook out of the trees.

I know I have to change my mental game to improve my hcp (reading the little red book now).

The same "logic" has applies for my tee game I'm better off in crap/or fairway 300m out then missing the safe tee shot and still being 100m off the tee. I don't play the safe shots well.

P.s Jono I should have used the LD swing and really scared you (more like 990Bs swing but with my big frame  )

Holy crap..I've never hit 14 fairways in my life.
It would take me three games to hit that many.

Why do you think I drank that much sat night... I had to cap myself

no regrets AndyP ... i had a good time as well ..... remember

all i'm saying is that you can't possibly play your best golf after drinking that much the night before and getting that little sleep.

heck, it felt like i was back on tour with the band again 8)

Yet somehow I managed to par the first three holes.
I guess it was bound to fall in a heap sooner or later though.

thats the problem you got too much sleep, its better if dont sleep at all.

I got shite faced at a reunion last year, didnt go to bed at all and played Twin waters next day - despite being an absolute mess i still shot 74, and the bogeys were only a result of 3 putts on the last few holes (nearly passed out when getting the ball out of the hole)

i think all the alcohol clouded my brain so much i didnt have time to think about 101 different parts of my swing as i try to hit the ball.
