Lincoln Tighe has just won his first tournament after turning pro last year. He managed to retain a 1 shot lead for the last few holes to win in PNG today.....well done mate!
Lincoln has been at our club since he was a junior and is always happy to play with us (choppers) when he is home. Lincoln would have to be one of the longest touring pros around, at least here in Australia anyway, if you get the chance to see him hit a ball make sure you do it.
He just switched a few weeks ago to a Ping G25 driver after being convinced by a heap of us to go to Ping and try getting fitted by them properly. The feedback was that he was the 2nd longest hitter they had ever tested, even the warehouse guys came in to watch when they thought they could hear gun shots going off!!!
As a matter of interest, when Virge first got us all on to the Nunchuck wagon last year, I made up a 10.5* Rapture V2 driver with a chuck in it and asked Lincoln (who was all over the place with his own driver one day) to have a crack with it. Our first hole is 345m from the plates and he drove it pin high into the right bunker, but stubbornly insisted that his XXXS Srixon Custom driver (who was sponsoring him) was what he should be playing and not some nun-chucky fad!!
Let's hope he gets some more good results under his belt in time for the biggies here in NSW and Australia later this year...Go Linc!!
