I thought this may be a good idea, seeing as there is a lot of interest in sports and horse betting. I am happy to run it.

Rules:

1. A once off payment of $100 secures you a share in the club. (payment to be made to titleist via whatever currency he takes)

2. A roster will be drawn up and posted so everyone knows in what order they will be betting.

3. We will be using a sporting bet account and everyone will have access to the login to see bets made, balance etc.

4. If you double the money that you have bet, then you can punt again the next week. i.e for a $100 outlay, minimum of $200 collect required to bet again.

5. Winnings to be distributed when everyone has punted, hopefully around QLD champs.

Punters so far :

1. BITS (Paid)
2. Courty (Paid)
3. Ben Tullipan QAGA (Paid with $400 worth of vouchers)
4. Titleist (Paid)
5. PeteyD (Paid)
6. Eag's (Paid)
7. sundayHack (Paid)
8. popper81 (Paid)
9. PerryGroves (Paid)

Ok, back on a PC and have updated the spreadsheet. It shows $1836, but there is $1865 in the account due to free bets and refunds. Not a big deal really.

After everyone has punted and QAGA and ozgolf have been paid, we are left with $90 for each punter. For those leaving, Titty will pay you.

Here is the list of who wants to leave. Anyone else that wants in, the share is $90, as it's too much of a pain the arse to get another $10 off everyone.

Ok I will do up a list and rules tomorrow night when I am off this phone.

Basically, if we get ten punters, put in $10 each a week, and one guy bets the $100. If he doubles it, say $200, he can bet again. Instead of xferring $10 a week, when its your turn, just cough up the $100 and have the bet. Take a pic and we will get a sticky thread and that's it.

Possibly divvy up the winnings at the Qld champs seeing I have already paid up and will definitely be there. Winnings can be paypaled or bank deposit to me and I will keep a running spread sheet and have it in the sticky. That's about it. I will start a list tomorrow and hopefully we can have our first punt on Saturday.

I thought this may be a good idea, seeing as there is a lot of interest in sports and horse betting. I am happy to run it.

I was thinking a weekly fee of $10 or $20 dollars, depending how many we get to join the club.

One member bets every week, or two if we have enough numbers. If you win for the week, you bet again. Winnings (hopefully to be distributed on December 1st).

We can organise the fine print later ( I will get popper81 to write the rules). Anyone interested?

BITS, nice, I'm in, as i am for a few with other mates, if you dont mind advice from the cheap seats, here goes:

- paying money in each week is a pain in the ass for you as the organiser and.........well me. Make it $50 or $100 to buy a share.
- as convenor, start an account with one of the online guys (I think Tom W posts here :)), if we get enough dollars i will get us a decent deal (extra cash to start with), as I am sure Titty would.
- winning implies doubling your money, not backing some favourite at 1.20.

Yeah I think I said something alone the same lines Perry. Lets say we get 20 punters @ $100 a share. We will have one $100 bet a week. So we can go for at least 20 weeks I suppose.

Will I as conveyor place the bet each week, after being told what to back by the punter who's turn it is?

Sounds easy. Is everyone happy to kick in $100 for the year. I will fire up a pc soon and do a list.

Well, I have a spare empty betting account with Sportingbet, in my wife's name.

Easy for everyone to login and see bets etc....

I'd say starting up a new account makes more sense than using an old one. Centerbet have a bonus deal up to $200 that we would piss in, though the first week's bet would have to be $200.

Iasbet and tom Waterhouse have $100 ones.

The Iasbet one makes the most sense after consideration. Tw and cb are both first bet matching, so unless you are looking at betting big on one single horse/game for the first round then you won't get as much free bet, whereas Iasbet is a deposit match/% offer, which you can actually get up to $200 on with the sort of opening deposit we're likely to be talking about.

And I've got an account with them already, so we could get a referral bonus out of it too (pretty sure we both get it).

Edit: referrer gets a straight bonus, referee gets a 50% first bet match.

They only match your first bet up to $200 at centrebet. So for new accounts only.

Someone else would have to open the Iasbet account in their name because I've already got one, and you can only have one per person. I'll give a referral code. But I think they've got the best bonus deals. We could even farm a few referral bonuses for the club account if anyone in the club wanted to sign up for their own account.

My old man is in a punters club and they only bet half of the weekly money ie $20 x $10 = $200 the bet would be $100 with the rest staying in the bank so at the end of the year they have something to collect.

Captain Nemo

OK,
Here we go!
Dont know if anyone saw his thread but ben Tullipan has some vouchers with tom Waterhouse, $400 to be exact!
He need someone to activate/open an account and bingo, $400 in credit!!!
I dont have an account with him, anyone here does???

What i propose, and ive spoken with Ben about this, is that he is willing for the Punters club to take responsibilty for this credit, and at the end of the time, if we can turn over the $400, we give him back $200 to the QAGA, and the other $200 to the Leon Foundation?
Sounds fair?
So anyone on here got an account with the Slimy Waterhouse, or will I just open one up????

golfbound
18th April 2013, 08:43 AM

The person that won them donated them back to QAGA but no one from QAGA are any good at betting im hoping this may raise more than the $200 for QAGA and $200 for Leon's Foundation.

They will come home for you.

They didn't but the Sharks lost in RSA last night so the Super 15 all up returned zero. Swansea didnt get past Southampton so the EPL all up is gone despite the Gooners winning.

$80 bet, $85 returned, unsure of what I will do with the extra $20 at this point.

If North Melbourne cover the spread today (23.5) against Brisnbane, we pick up another $146.60. More comfortable bet for me, going against Qlders.

The original idea in BITS rules was to go again if you doubled your cash, good idea.

With my series of bets I have managed to secure $13 per punter in the club, whilst a positive start, I have already dusted my winnings this morning on bridge toll, a paper and breakfast.

In the other PC I am in, after you double your money, you bet half the winnings the following week + your original stake. In my case, $65 in the tin and I would be betting $165 next week. This has been mildly successful with one bloke running strong for 6-8 weeks, his last bet was $3000 (after starting with $100).

For mine, this is a bit aggressive, I would propose for punters who double their stake: Week 2, bet the $100 again (as per the rules) however in week 3 if the punter is still rolling we up the ante as per the above.

Everyone has a different relationship to punting/money and I don't really know you guys that well, feel free to ignore and we continue as is.

I have always been a fan of a riding your winnings and cut your losses betting strategy i.e. once you are on a streak (say a couple of weeks) then increase your bets above the normal (I usually double them). Once the winning streak fails, back to normal bet sizes. I also like to "bank" (quarantine) winnings above my original stake, nothing like "playing" with your winnings rather than your own funds, but that is not really relevant in this case.

Waddzy, think there was an option to use the matched bet which I didn't click so it should still be there.

Watched the EPL highlights last night, can't believe Swansea didn't score against Southampton, would have been a great collect with Louis "The Great White Shark" Suarez scoring against Chelski in the dying minutes to get a draw.

Trying to think with the head not the heart so will avoid putting Manly into any bets this week.

Also put $10 on GI to grab first try tonight @ $9

Havent been a big fan of AFL until watching a few games this year but thought I better put some bets elsewhere so AFL multi is on:

$25 on Pies to win 1-39 , Roo's -19.5 and Hawks -23.5 @ 7.66

Do you have Dropbox or Gmail? I'd suggest the best way to handle it would be upload it to one of these types of online services and post a link in the OP. That way you could edit the original anytime you like and not have to worry about changing the link in the OP.

I feel like Peter Slipper joining the UAP.

Hey boys..
I had no idea it was me this week. Is there any chance I can swap turns? Im knee deep in concreting this weekend and have not prepared for a punt.

My apologies, I thought I was No.10 off the rank and didnt expect to be up so soon.

Cheers
