Everyone spends $100. To me up is anything above and beyond that. Basically money that won't be accessed for future gambling, so $132 + $10 + $90 = $232 ... or at least that is how I look at it. So if everyone from no one loses that is what we have left.

Alternatively we have had $600 go out and have had 232, 110, 10 and 190 come back in for a net -60 position, which is where you are coming from. But for this you are counting future funds for betting which could come out net $0.

At the end we will be giving a donation of $200 to the Leon Treadwell fund and $200 to QAGA. The rest will be divvied up amongst the punters.

The way you are looking at it, yes we are up $550 and have bet $600, so $50 down on what we originally started with, so all is good.

Are my calculations right, in that with 12 punters to go, + Titties next week, we have over half the money back in winnings now?

I haven't logged in, but the balance is around $2650. So we are $450 up.

We started with $2200.

We calculate things differently, so that is all I will say lol.

If everyone from now on loses the lot. We end up with 1350 to split 19 ways, so at least half our money back. There is not $2200 left to bet, only $1300. Any more bet than that is from winnings.

I concur with PeteyD's way of looking at it. No point taking money that hasn't been bet yet into account. Sure, if we pulled the pin today and told the last 12 still to punt "too bad", sure, we're up, but that was never an option, so the most objective way to look at the situation is to only look at money that is 100% sure to be split up, i.e. Winnings.

Petey, does your math take into account the donations?

Most punters will only count what they are in front as profits, like others, it's the only way I have ever looked at it.
To be honest though we won't know how much profit (if any) there will be until all the initial bank has been bet.

I dunno what is hard about it. Don't count the amount that is budgeted to bet, which is $1300.
Any extra weeks are always with profit so the absolute minimum amount left to distribute.So we are not up 430, but we are behind 600. We still need to win that to get our 100 back.

If every bet from now on returns 0, unlikely but possible given it is gambling, we get Current Total - 1300, or 2600-1300 = 1300, or the total amount won. You can't say we are up until our winnings exceed the 1900 put up originally so everyone gets their money back.

You shouldn't count the amount budgeted to gamble as being available to distribute (although that seems to be how the g'ment does it!). As long as some of the money is set aside to bet, don't count it in the total.

Anyway GO TITTY another $400 week would be sweet :D
