Been a witness to a dodgy tee shot by an OZgolfer that hasn't passed the ladies tee box? Had to buy your playing group a Jug recently? Share your woes ( and others) here...

My dad did it twice in a row on a short par 3 at Maylands. First was topped, but just the barest of contact so it just fell gently off the tee. The second was the best hosel rocket I've ever seen.

Played his 3rd from 30m left of the men's tee and proceeded to put it in a lake. Took a drop and then bladed it across the green into a small creek.

Ill have to nominate myself 3 weeks ago , Long drive hole in a saturday comp.. wound up and barely scraped it 5m in front before hitting a tree and trickling OOB.. loaded up again and knocked it roughly 10m past the B and C grade long drive and in line with the A grader ones.. I didnt claim it... and cost me a round of 4 rums :S

2 months into playing comp rounds (shows how long ago it was, 14 years) I had the longest drive with only 2 groups left to come through so thought I was a fair chance of winning it. Got beaten by the last group. Apparently a guy in the group (playing with the club captain, mind you) hit his first drive out of bounds then beat mine with his second. I was ****ing furious!

Hence why I didnt claim it , I could just think.. Imagine if I was the current long driver to be done by that!

Ill own up. 2 weeks ago. Par 5, hooked it left into a tree. Just stayed in bounds but was hard up against barb wire fence. Managed to knock it out onto the fairway. 3 wood on the green to 15 foot. Lipped out birdie putt. Only one in group to make par and still was my shout.

No offence, but that must be a short par 5!

480 if I remember rightly. The ladies tee is almost 100 in front. I hit a pretty good hybrid back out on the fairway that left me with about 210. But yeah it isn't a long par 5. But the distance to the ladies often leads to a shout.

We play the rule if you save par , no shout required. but we also make you pay for 4 putts , if you putt from on the green back off the green and if you hit more than 2 balls in the piss on a single hole. Been a few arvos where I couldnt drive home due to someone elses extremely bad round..

El ferret bore witness to a brilliant one of mine on the Saturday at PW champs. Don't know or care what hole, but I belted the shit out of the ball, straight into the wooden hole number marker sign. Dinted the sign and sent the ball rocketing straight back at us, ended up in the bush on the left of the tee, about level with the blacks.

Evened out ferrets similar lie from a few holes ago. His hit a tree though, instead of a sign.

Oh, and my first ever Ozgolf round with shavey and Ben Tullipan, first shot of the first tee, topped it with the 3 wood and it didn't even make it out of the tee box.

Excellent first impression.

About a month ago I tee'd up on the 18th long Par 5 at Kooringal. I smashed the ball down the right side of the fairway, at about 100m down a tree branch reached out and clubbed it straight back at me and it stopped 20m in front of me and right at the back of the Ladies Tee. Not happy

Bump for me. 535m Par 5 18th and I hit it straight into a tree 20m in front of the tee and it dropped almost straight down 20m short of the red markers. I made bogey after missing a 15' putt for par

And me.

On the Par 6th at Cairns GC (Index 18 ) over the weekend, I made a swing so bad that it would have been half cold-top, half shank with an iron (probably still laughing hard at Solarman's combined shank/ jug on the previous hole ). I got a piece of the ball so low on the heel that the ball left an indent on the teebox 6 inches in front of the tee and 3 inches left. It bounced over the mound/ garden bed left of the tee and settled in the thick rough behind a tree. I just missed the sand save par putt.

Thats actually impressive... Par 4? But this was not aimed at myself. Clearing it up as my playing partner on the weekend managed it and didn't shout the group due to forcing that rule it was an impressive par , he still bought me a beer for winning our side bet so I was at ease.

Im happy he didnt buy them a beer now , 1 got DQed and the other had a 2 stroke penalty added after his round. Sadly it seems like I have to play with them again this weekend but.. oh the joys.

For the record I have made a par on a par 4 with a slut tee shot.. The par 4 is 256m but so you can see how its easily possible.

I saw a ripper today. It was on a 145 metre par 3.... fat, went about 3 metres. Bloke didn't even come in for a drink afterwards, so no shout. I also saw him hit an attempted 3 wood from the fairway that was so well topped it popped up and spun backwards, finished about a foot behind where it started.

I was there and I saw this. The video doesn't quite do it justice, but it wasn't a bad effort by SMS to think of activating the video at a time of much laughter.

PeterRS hit the first one, and it looked to a for while as though he was going to get the benefit of the cart path and get away with it. Lager then followed it with an almost identical shot. Total hilarity then ensued.

It was a shit lie with restricted swing. I'd usually either chunk it 6" or blade 20m past the green.

Sitting on the green in no danger of a snake was a good result, as was the nett par.

Bumping it on to the green with a putt for par was a much easier shot. Picking it clean as you did was quite a tough shot.

Not an Ozgolfer, but I think Jeff Sluman may have had one at the US Senior Open overnight. Being an American course with about 20 teeboxes it is a bit hard to tell, but his drive went not very far, and straight along the ground. They showed it in slow motion, too.

I was watching the replay this afternoon with the sound turned off, as I often do. The song playing on my ipod at the time? Welcome to my Nightmare, by Alice Cooper!

Bumping for a former Brisbane resident now calling Melbourne home, who had one on the 18th at Bundaberg on Saturday.

It was a skilful one, too. Smashed into a tree close to the tee and pinballed off a few other trees to fall short. The best part was that cart partner Lagerlover raced off after him before he could play the nest shot and with no intro comment apparently said "schooner of blonde, some type of craft beer for AndyP and I'm not sure what Jim drinks".

I understand there was another one, but I didn't see it, so hopefully someone else will comment.

I don't really know where this belongs, put my playing partner at Coral Cove (who for convenience sake we shall call Jim), managed to nut his second on 6 straight into the long drive sign. It was a powerful shot, albeit a low stinger, but it never looked like missing.

Ball ricocheted forward 10 more meters, but it was maybe the straw that broke the camels back - next shot blocked into the cack.

Certain jug golfer mentioned also might need to check into the sherman thread for his efforts at Maryborough hole 7.

I was lucky enough for a birds eye view of this one.

1 Drive out to the right and rattled around in the trees.
2 Shot hit a tree plum in the middle and ricocheted straight right OB.
3 drop
4 repeat 2
5 drop
6 punch shot through trees out onto the fairway.

Drive over to Shazza's tee box.

He also hit a provisional from the tee box as we weren't sure if his first drive was even in.

The same chap hit a tee shot off the heel of a wood left into the pole of a screen about 20m away on Bundy's 11th (I think) to go OOB on the right.
