Seems as though alot of guys handicaps are close to their anchors?
Lets do a poll to see how far away everyone is.
You dont need to post your numbers in the thread if your embarrased by them, just answer the poll.

Treat them as the number or less and it is fine. so one or less, 1.1-2, 2.1-3, 3.1-4.

My hcp is 8, my anchor is 13 and my lowest flagged round is 4.

I think people are confused by what the anchor is, its not your lowest counted round, its your lowest counted round in the 12 months prior to your most recent round!

given I haven't got a GL round since 2011, my anchor is my most recent flagged round. my lowest flagged round of 4 was in 2009!

Just to clarify, Moe is sort of correct... it is not your lowest counted round....It is your lowest counted average of 8 rounds.

5. When GOLF Link re-calculates a player’s handicap, what role is performed by their Anchor?
A player’s Anchor point is the best exact handicap they have achieved during the 12-month period before their most
recent round (and every time a player has a score processed through GOLF Link, GOLF Link will check to see if the
player’s Anchor needs to be updated). When their NEXT round is processed through GOLF Link, the handicap
calculated for the player will not be permitted to be more than 4 strokes above their current Anchor point.

Of course this is now going to be 5 strokes, not 4.

I am 0.8 shots away from my anchor, however it is the same handicap. I answered '1 shot away'.
