Besides being extremely annoying especially when idiots yell "get in the hole" on a Par 5, I just think it's such a distraction for all the players. Imagine a player is about to make a 3 foot putt on the 17th, one stroke up, while on the 18th tee, several idiots scream "ice cream sundae!!!!" as the player makes his putting stroke causing him to miss. Tell me I'm not alone in being irritated as hell with these American idiots who have Touretts syndrome on the Golf course.

And they now bring their kids with them to model the right way of doing it.

I agree, screaming "ice cream sundae" is not appropriate in any situation.

Not even in a crowded McDonalds outlet, with the boy taking your order only just been promoted to the tills. This promotion was made with some reluctance, due to the boy's learning difficulties and reliance on hearing aids. Hearing aids which require a specific battery from Denmark that are so expensive he actually had to get this job to save the money to order his first set, and they're still 2 to 3 weeks away.

It's precious. General noise should be allowed although yelling is too extreme.

I like the "mash potato" guy the best. The guy who yelled "cheater" at Keegan Bradley is up there too.

What does general noise encompass? A chat behind the guy playing? Clubs being put back in a bag? The undoing of velcro on a glove while someone is mid swing? The jingle jangle of 10 coins in a pocket?

Golf is a game of concentration and respect.

I'm certainly careful not to make 'general noise' while someone is playing a shot .... is it unreasonable to expect the same?

They should get rid of all the knobs that scream "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi" at every available chance at sporting events as well.

You need to stop posting from now on JC, as nothing you post from here on in will ever be as correct as this.
