29 points yesterday. 5 pars which were decent birdie chances. 4 triples. One of those days played what I felt was ok tee to green but shortgame cost a lot of strokes. Chipping used to be a strength but finding the TGM style leading edge chip isn't reliable when the ball is sitting up on the kike..

88 at Royal Melbourne East Course.

First hit for 4 weeks After a huge week. Started ok, then played like Ashes for 5 holes before I started to remember how to play.

Cool experience, Greens were amazing, fairways are still bad in places on the second paddock.

Surprises how short the course was and how open the tee shots are.

18 (which I think is 18 of the composite), is such a simple hole but just a great great finishing hole into the wind.

Hit 90 at good old Hillview so consistency is slowly getting better, 7 pars, but 3 scores of 7. Managed to drive onto a par 4 green (270m away according to GPS) which was an amazing fluke, pity I was so far away I still 3 putted for par but had a good laugh about it, especially when I megasliced my next tee shot like the true hacker I am :D

I really stunk it up today missed a short birdie putt on the first, hit sand iron off the 2nd tee and managed a 5 after shanking my chip into the bunker:( really lost the plot with 3 quads.

Played at Long Reef for 38 points, including a wipe on the crappy design 18th hole (thank you Peter Thompson, you #$%@!!) - 64.3% of fairways, 50% GIR, 66.7% scrambling, 26 putts! 3 birdies, 2 bogeys & a double.

Looking forward to Sunday with the boys at Stonecutters.

Paternity leave huh? How long?

Two more weeks, still doing a bit of work from home (avoiding it if I can). My wife is not supposed to drive for a few weeks due to the cesaerean, so I have taken up the two weeks paid paternity leave from the Government, and also used up some carer's leave.

Front 9 of my round this morning at Dunheved: 7 points, 4 wipes, about 5 tree trunks or branches hit, a shanked bunker shot, general malaise...
Back 9: 18 points, wipe free, nothing spectacular, 1 shank, something resembling optimism that Stonecutters Ridge on Sunday might not be a trainwreck.

The only thing I succeeded in doing today was getting my previously pristine Odyssey golf towel dirty.

Played the dingo today @ gailes...... And got sorted out accordingly.

85 / 82 -,awesome stuff.

Lost to Iain 3 & 1 in the match play & he shot 91.

Great day for golf.

My highlights..... Well I have two. Not breaking my wedge shaft on 16th, when I really really wanted too........and throwing my 7 iron almost 60m on the practice fairway back at MWP later in the day.

**** golf.

Woke up this morning, & decided to ditch the arvo game on favour of just heading out. Turned out to be masterstroke.

71 off the bat, & 39 points.

Included a wipe with a ball in the Albert river on the 13th hole.

The round highlight came on the 17th hole ( par 5). First drive up the centre, but doesn't bounce. Can't find the embedded ball, so it is back to the tee & I am fuming. Blast driver again, thankfully it bounces. Have 235 carry to the green. Pull driver, hit it to 35ft & the hole the putt. Not a bad par.

Nice round Popper.

I let a good one go today. Had 4 birdies in the first 8 holes. Ended up shooting even round the front mainly due to 3 x 3 putts. But that was okay.

Shot 6 over round the back including 2 more 3 putts. Finished with 78 for 72 nett.

Missed almost every fairway but hit 12 greens in reg including 8 on the front 9.

Hitting it pure but short game still screwed!

New wedges are good though. Too good, I hit one from 100m out on 5 that landed pin high then spin back about 20 foot and almost went off the front of the green, it had some juice!

3 over par in a Stableford @ Kapunda today for 37pts.
Apart from the missed fairways the tee to green game was very sound. Best iron play since getting the new 712 AP2's 5weeks ago. Getting used to aiming right of the stick knowing they will drift back.
The new 910F 5wood debut went very well.

Left a lot of shots out there with the putter (farewell round for the Odyssey 2 ball) Missed two 3 footers for birdie and rimmed the hole (no homo) on two 6-8 footers. Didn't make a birdie until I dove the last for an easy two putt from ten foot pin high from just off the green. Putting stats are made to look good by 4 one putts after being just off in regulation.

Dunked one in the water after a huge pull (no homo) on the 13th. Played a Bridgestone E6 for the remainder of the round and hit every fairway and green in reg for the remainder of the round .

40 points with 8 and 2 over respectively.17 and 23 points.3 doubles on the front. Bogeyed 17. Put my 2nd into the water and finished Par 5 on 18. Well played yesterday Vic, winning B Grade. The real upside is the capacity to improve with those blowout holes to shot a few more 40s.I had an off day, with 24 points and hitting 2 GIRs and 4 FWYs. Thank god I could putt or else I would have shot in the 90s. Our bunkers and greens are terrible at the moment. Greens and fairways must be hit as at the moment, trying to make distance putts or sand bunker up/downs is nearly impossible.I hit it average but felt as though the conditions made it extremely difficult to recover.

First round since 1st of January with the NSW boys at Stonecutters today, and it was a really bad one. I had to par the last two holes to scrape out 21 points. I didn't realise that I had left my sunglasses on, and I never play in sunnies, so that may be the reason for my bad play.

36 points in the comp with the ozgolf boys at Stonecutters Ridge today. First time on the course and left myself needing a birdie on the last for the 36 points - drained about a 12 footer after leaving my first putt woefully short going downhill (scared shitless!). One wipe (stupid tee decision) but otherwise drove it well for all but one of the other holes, and struck the ball well with good short game. Some tough pin positions and bumpy greens. 3 birdies overall (2 eagle putts on 1 and 18 that I never gave a chance) and a few 1 pointers. A fun day with great company.

35 points at Reddy Bay yesterday. Tee Up sees it become a played to 18 :(. Had a wipe on 2 when the muck on the fairway ate the ball, I couldn't be stuffed walking back to the tee (should have in hind sight). I then had 2/3 points on every hole until a 1 point bogey on 16 and a stupid wipe of 18. Got the approach on 7 which was nice.

For some reason I started to de-cel on putts for a few holes. Fixed it with a big bin on 17 for an up and down par.

Sorry . . .

40 point with 3 doubles ???

Yup, off 14, doubles on 3 and 5 and 6 of Lakes front.
Par: 445347344 = 36
Scr: 557467334 = 44
Pts: 21-211343 = 17

Back 9
Par: 544344345 = 36
Scr: 544444355 = 38
Pts: 333223322 = 23

I wish I was more consistent off the tee. I can go really left or really right. The back 9, I creamed the ball off the tee. The 12th is 361, I measured my drive to be 309m. Had the group behind us tee-off while I measured them. I had 58m to the pin.

And no JC, there weren't any women in the group behind us and we were playing off the Blues. Strong wind behind and ProV1x. I have driven it to a similar spot on three other occasions.

The 15th is Index 1 Par 4. Played out of two bunkers and made Par. I put my 2nd into the drink on the Par 5, 18th. Played my drop 4th to about 15 - 18 feet and made the putt.

I beat my scoring partner on a count back as he came in with 19 and 21 to my 17 and 23.

The unfortunate thing in my eyes is that the winner for the day was in with 43, a C grader who beat a 16 year old girl off 2 who came in with 42.

There is no justice!
