I tried the HX tour for the first time at the weekend.

It was great off the tee and nice to put with but after the first full wedge shot, it was unplayable. I had to ask my playing partners if it would be OK to change it on the green.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

ProV1 is my favourite, but my budget usually only stretches to Laddies. :cry:

When i went to see Chris McCourt a while ago, to get checked out on his LM, he told me that almost all the people he sees for gear advice never take his opinion about what ball he thinks they should be using. It's just as important as deciding what shaft you should be using in your driver he thinks .... maybe Ben could elaborate on this :?

i use strata's, any type really, just bought 60 off ebay for a good price so the old school stratas are in the bag for practice and i have 50 tour ace's coming so they might be the game ball, i love the suit and not the number deal, looks cool and i like playing poker :D
ive tried all the prov1x's and stuff, all seem the same to me, the HX tour 56 is a good ball though but i only get them if i win them.

Was playing the U-tri Tour but have moved to the Cally HX Blue. It has dropped my distance with the irons but hasn't really affected my driver distances.

Gets good spin on the greens. Very happy but just have to get more of them through EBAY as they aren't cheap. Wanting to try the HX Tours.

yeah, i've heard that also Grant. I'm not supposed to be able to use the ProV1X because i don't swing fast enough, yet i feel i get much better distance with it than any other ball i've tried, and i can chip and putt with it ok too :?

That's why I use the ProV1, not the ProV1X. And occasionally, I might get some Hogan Apex Reds, as the Blacks are more like the ProV1X also. I recently tried some Callaway HX Tours and quite liked them. I will buy the again if the ProV1's aren't available at the time.

I actually should be playing the level below 'premium' with my swing speed, and usually play just as well with Precept Spin, NXT Tour or even Optima TS.

i would be happy to send you the details of the seller on ebay who i got them off, after postage it was $59.50 for 50 balls, when i got them they had $25 a doz packaging so im happy, not brand spanking new but good enough for me to use in a comp round for sure, and if i loose it, meh, 1 more coat of white paint isnt going to help me not hook it OB :lol:
