1 over at Dunheved. 39 points. Never played there before. Decent track. Nice greens. Great value for money.
Drove shabby but was lucky to have shots out of trees. Rest of the game was great.
The humidity was a killer though.

The humidity was a killer though. That's a good round Matty. I really miss playing there and have had some low 70s scores there. Played pennant rounds there as a junior and it was always in good condition. So much run and good greens. The par 5s were good holes.

I had 26 points and left very pissed off with myself
Drove it well hitting 11 fairways but missed 11 greens and putted like a fool.
Dropped back to 4.5
Can't wait for the rain to stop as I need to hit some balls and spend some time on the short game to get the weekend crap out if my head.

Thanks Nuff. The par 5's were there for the taking. Got caught out on one where I didn't know there was a creek crossing and drove into it. Doesn't matter now anyway. Was just rung by my mate who told me he forgot to hand the friggin cards in  I left quickly to pick the kids up as he was yelling at his (since a week) ex mrs and supposedly on his way to hand the cards in.

Sure mate, are you just trying to pad your handicap so you can take our cash at SCR in a couple of weeks.....

I can't believe you rated the greens at Duneved Matty. Mack, myself & two mates played there yesterday & thought they were horrendously slow & bouncy. Two of the boys are ex members & couldn't get over how crap the greens are. The fairways looked & played great but the four of us won't be rushing back any time soon. Well played by the way.

Thanks. That's weird. Found them to be true and certainly not slow. Might have dried out a touch? They were a bit bumpy but maybe I'm easier pleased.
Bunkers were absolute crap.

Played stableford at maryborough this morning had 40pts. I made a silly bogey on the first from just off the green then birdied the next 2 holes made a few mistakes but hit the ball pretty good and putted well. Lipped out on birdie putts on 11 & 13 then made a 25 footer on 15 for birdie. Double bogey on 17 was a bit disappointing after trying to hit a hard 5 iron into the wind from 185 and hooking in the trees but made a good up and down on the last for par. Handicap down to 6.1.

Public holiday today (hoorah for local horse races) so went out and had a bash in the comp.

Promised myself I wouldn't spit the dummy no matter how bad I played, and would just enjoy myself. Kept to my promise and managed to scrape together 30 points. It was certainly nice to walk off the course feeling relaxed and not disappointed, so I am going to have to do it more often.

Here are the stats (http://golfshot.com/Rounds/Detail/57-15048518-15048588) - ball striking is actually pretty good (though I hit a few horrible drives) but my biggest problem is I've still got a bad case of cannotgetupanddownitis, and keep making soft bogeys and doubles from the fairway. But at least my putting was solid today, made a couple of long birdie putts and had a couple of pretty unlucky lipouts on the front 9 too.

Firstly I'd like to say that I am unfortunately one those people that only talks about their good rounds, its a character flaw but I'm at least I'm honest. With that out of the way, I shot even par today for only the 2nd time ever at my home course Penrith. It was the first time I have used my 712 AP2's & couldn't be happier, got done by 1 point in A grade ( lipped my putts on 15, 17 & 18, Doh!) but won 2ball scratch.

I hate golf.

Had double on the 5th to be 1 over end of 6. Took 6 to get out of bunker to make 8 on the 7th par 3. 3 putt the 8th and finish the 9 at 7 over.

Started back with double and triple, 4 bogies. Only 3 pars which should have been birdies.

Finished with net 72 with 8 pars and 1 birdie.

Played Long Reef on Wednesday 27/2 for -2 in a par event. A bit blowy, but not too bad. A demo driver (R1) that went straight back to the shop, and a couple of silly mistakes otherwise hit it pretty good. Stats - 64.3% of fairways, 44.4% GIR, 40% up & down, 31 putts.

82/76 in the monthly medal today. Realistically, I deserved a better score than that, I was 1 under after 6... and struck the ball well all day, especially off the tee. Only hit a couple of bad shots and a few stupid putts, they all cost me dearly... went 11 over for the last 12 holes :(

There is, yes.

But I have the GPS version - can't see how it's against the rules to put a score in so long as I don't use the GPS part. I generally put the score in on the green, or between the green and the next tee, so even if I do see a distance it can't be argued I've used it.

It was howling today with a strong easterley at GLGC. 39 for the front, get to the 13th tee 5 over. Took a ten. And it was ugly. Net 76 for the round. Missed A grade by 3 shots.

13th tee - waited 15 minutes on the tee. Had the shits, carved one right into the piss, pitch out, top it into the piss, knock it short, chip, 3 putt 10. FFFFFF................ The useless ****s in the group in front were 1 FULL HOUR behind Monsta's group. And yet the Committee Member I played with thought it acceptable. ****! Got a ball and NTP so not a bad day though.

Monsta won B grade with a net 69. Not bad after 17 points last week.

Dropped 7 shots in the last 4 holes.Very similar outcome to my day. 37 front, 43 back at Vines for an 80 (33 pts).Sounds like you struck it well and were unlucky at RFGC around the hole. I was going well with birds on 1 and 9, but got carried away the back, thinking about the desired end result after a solid front 9. A very dumb thing to do...Things have improved the last 2 months from thinking better thoughts more often and trusting the game at all times. But today was evidence that it's so easy to stumble off course when you start expecting too much. There is all the time in the world to think stupidly once the round is over. During rounds, the next challenge is to remain 100% committed to every shot, every round and no matter what, until the last putt is made on 18.

I may have sorted my putting this morning. Playing with my usual two ball, he noticed that on the short putts I tended to track the ball as I hit it. Form of the yips as it doesn't appear on the putts that are around 7 feet plus.

Made two birdies on the back 9 of Ellenbrook. Par 3, 13th was 233m at the very back, I used the Tourfit 3W I got off Ben. Has a VForce X in it. Pin high right 8 feet for birdie. I flew a pitched past middle which was about 225.

Nice metal head. I think I'll ask him for a softer shaft as I couldn't get the same performance on the ground. I like the head as it reminds me of the V-Steel in some ways.

Now to work on the driver.

79 yesterday in 45 km winds to qualify 4th for the club champs. Hit it well but got punished on a few holes with 3 doubles from nowhere.

Quarter finals this morning, was 4 over through 6 and really struggling. Again, gave myself a good talking to and went two under through the next 9 to win 5&3.

Semis this arvo, up against the top qualifier. Was two over through 4, and needed a bit of talking to again. Went 1 under through the next 13 to win 2&1.

Final in a fortnights time. VERY nervous. :-(

Since I've been gone.

Few good rounds, down to 15.3 now.

He's back!

Are we holding you back from your true potential Yoss?

Unlike me, I feel like the most inconsistent 14capper on earth....I feel like an imposter at times. There's no way I could be compared to Vic yet we have the same cap, go figure.
J, you just need to play with some lower cappers on a regular basis and set some target scores based around you current handicap.

Unfortunately, I am too much of a tinkerer. I seem to enjoy that more than being consistent. I will hopefully get better but I won't hold my breath.

It would appear so. When I win B Grade I will thank the mods.

Great work Lefty.

Think you're nervous now... Wait til you're on the first tee :D I was shitting bricks in my final last year.

You'll do fine though.

Love that dry sense of humour. That is up there with the funniest things you've ever said on here.

Great work Lefty.

I nearly vomited on the six foot putt I had to win on 16. The first tee could be in trouble...

If you look at my golflink scores, I'm a solid 14HC I know my place and am content these days. Don't even look at other clubs. You need to take a little more time on the greens, in particular on your second putts.

Great job Hoges.I followed up my runner up effort in the Kennedy Bay Classic with a big 22 points. I knew there would be a bit of a letdown, but 22 in great conditions is ridiculous.

Best advice ever.

Great job Hoges.

Cheers JC! When does WA play most of their club champs? Or are they fairly scattered?

I might even double tile that night. Just for extra comfort.

Well done, Lefty. Obviously I played you into Matchplay form a few Fridays ago. ;)

Was a good warm up mate, came in handy. Even played the same way yesterday, start off like a spud (see what I did there??? ) and come home with a wet sail.

Well, it's gonna be a shock to the system going to work tomorrow and not playing golf at kwinana...

Played Saturday off 15 for 38 points. Including a run of horrible 1 pointers on 7, 8 and 9.

Played Sunday off 14 for 37 points. With 2 drives that went barely 50m on 9 and 10. Also had a duffed chip that went 1 foot on the last so should have had an extra 3 points from those.

Played today off 13 for 32 points. Had some good putts that just wouldn't drop and had some absolutely horrible putts including a 4 putt on 7 for a point. Also had two wipes.

Really enjoying golf down to a low of 13.3 now after starting the weekend at 14.7. I feel like single figures is almost a realistic target in the near future now but just need to keep the consistency going and a couple of rounds where it all comes together.

Great work there Jeffo.
That 4jack could be attributed to your broken nose from the other week.

Maybe you need some breathing exercises.

Nicely done all the same though.

Great until I decided to start hitting fades all day yesterday. When you continually aim right of the pin for a baby draw and slice your approach, you end up in some bad spots.Im still working on a 'control fade' when the wind is blowing in or across from the right - just like KB when you towled me at the end in the semi MP. Yes it works when it is hit properly but if you don't aim at the left edge and have confidence in the fade spin coming off, things can backfire if the shape doesn't evolve. I like how it carries further and stops quickly. It's the go-to shot with an extra club, that still needs some work.
