Andy's not that unbearable...he was very supportive and sympathetic when I went wipe, wipe, 1, wipe (or similar) to start my 2011 Champs tilt.

I just hope that whoever I share a cart with at The Glades will have a similar attitude.

Draw is Random Andy. So Nope! Unless I decide to do funny groupings again.

That's it. I am out.

He is alright...I do like him better with a beard. From memory he helped Iain deal with the devastation of losing to SPUD in Victoria. Maybe he is in the wrong field at present?

I'm heading up to Brissy on the Thursday...depending on where I decide to stay Thur night and what type of car I hire (hiring for Thur and Fri, return on Sat morning before the Glades round) I could potentially drive down to Cooly airport and pick 1 or 2 people up.

Car hire experts...

Who should I deal with? Hertz has a 15% offer for Panthers supporters like me, and it appears I can get a Commodore SV6 or similar for about $250 from Thur through to Monday, or a Camry or similar for just under $220.

Does that sound reasonable or are there better deals out there?

Shit I had a heart attack the other day. Our tri clubs race calendar came out and I thought the second race of the season was champs weekend. Jasmine wants to try out for the darling downs team for the qld schools champs and 2nd race is the qualifying race. But it's the weekend after. Phew.

I am now all officially PAID UP. This could be the best champs ever... why you ask? Let me tell you:

1. I plan to be playing off my anchor. This is 8... I few extra shots never went astray.
2. I will have a belly putter. This should provide countless amusement for all the punters that get to play with, or witness, me putt.
3. I am in the middle of a 12 week challenge... So no booze, no hangovers... It is all about the golf.
4. I will get to watch Courty unfold at the hands of Lefty once again.
5. As I won't be drinking, there will be more words available for the others in the group to use ( SPUD & the Vic champs crew will understand).
6. I have already found a horrendous pair of pants.
7. After tomorrow, I am all but finished my uni degree. This means I will be able to devote countless hours to practice to ensure that I am not NAGA.

Historically, 20 points a day won't get you into the 1st group out Sunday. Probably won't even get you into the 2nd group out!

Being my first crack at this prestigious event I am not quite sure what im in for.Wascally Wabbit usually sets himself a 30 point average over however many rounds he plays at Champs. From memory he hasn't achieved that, but he has comfortably exceeded a 20 point average...at least once.

The way im hitting the ball ( depending on which clubs I use) + the quality of these courses + the fact ive dropped 20 shots this year to a handicap I cant play to = a very low points tally! 20 is being realistic.

I would expect that with a number of other champs around, some would forgo coming to qld to play in their local.

Only Palm Meadows and Hope Island having online Course guides is a bit disappoint.

How will I know where to hit it only to flare it into the piss anyway?

I have a course guide booklet for the Glades from when I last played there about 10 years ago. I think it is still accurate. I will see if I can scan it at work next week and put it on the forum.

Course guide is useless for those of us that can't guarantee well hit the ball in the right direction.

No. I was hoping the pressure would make you withdraw.

I have 12 kids... Withdraw is against my nature.

Can the favourite win without paying the fee?

The fave could win from his hotel room with only a putter head and a cracked Hot Dot.

Do any of the Sydney guys live close enough to the airport line for me to borrow some of their driveway for Thursday to Monday and save myself some $$ on airport parking? Or perhaps grab a ride from someone's place to the airport if they're heading to work in the city?

I'm thinking about getting a train from Penrith to the airport but my golf travel bag plus carry on might be a little awkward for that length a journey...

9:00 flight, so I'd be aiming to get to the terminal around 8.

Perfect...cheers L. I'll shoot a PM your way to get your address in a moment or 2 - I think I remember it but better off checking so that I don't end up somewhere else.

For those staying on Thursday night, are you staying at the crowne plaza or somewhere else.

I am booked in there Friday to Sunday nights, but thinking of staying there Thursday as well.
