What are you doing looking for golf gear anyway? You have a new baby which means no golf. Should be spending your hard earned on nappies now.

The baby is too young to have their own set of clubs

17th January 2013, 08:26 PM
Cloth nappies = sorted for life.

And budget conscious ;)

jaybam
17th January 2013, 08:29 PM
Lol cloth rocks.

PeteyD
17th January 2013, 08:33 PM
Costs about the same when you add up the washing and time taken costs. No landfill though.

jaybam
17th January 2013, 08:35 PM
Costs about the same when you add up the washing and time taken costs. No landfill though. Sorry Pete but will disagree. We have used cloth all the way through and when you have a clever wife that has the patterns to all the brand name nappies and she made her own we are way in front of the disposables. Less rashes as well with cloth. Breathe better

timah!
17th January 2013, 09:21 PM
We've spent $150 on cloth personally and have been given maybe $250 worth from others.

At $30 a box on average a week, we'll come out well in front, especially for more than one junior...

jaybam
17th January 2013, 09:22 PM
Yup Timah that's right. Which cloth are the main ones you got. Not the old toweling I hope. Modern cloth is the way to go. Does your misses sew? If so can organize some patterns for her to make her own.

PeteyD
17th January 2013, 09:36 PM
What about the costs of washing em etc?

don;t know about the new ones, although I have seen them with my siblings all breeding now, and some of them are most impressive compared to the old squares.

Oh and the less rashes with cloth thing is a myth, it is to do with changing on time more than anything else.

From what I can gather looking at the interweb (where were you when I had them in nappies evil internet), disposables end up costing about twice as much over the 3 years. plus if you reuse on a second child the costs go down for cloth obviously. but none of the costs take into account the time you need to do the cleaning etc.

One thing about cloth nappies is that you can keep using them for other things once you stop using them for their main use.

timah!
17th January 2013, 10:00 PM
Yeah, modern cloth. Crazy easy and good. Never thought I'd be as on board with them as I am. Super good product.

Some family friends of the wife's have an online baby goods business so we get them from there.

We do a single was a day with a front loader.

Yeah, she's starting to sew a bit Jay, happy for some patterns!

jaybam
17th January 2013, 10:43 PM
Will get the wife to put something together.

timah!
17th January 2013, 10:51 PM
That'd be great cheers.
I promise I won't sell them on gumtree.

peter_rs
17th January 2013, 11:30 PM

We use disposable, does that make us bad parents? Don't know if anyone's saying that but ok. Your evil to the core. :)Whacko environmentalists might think so though.

Thought I was looking for a new driver head, but I will take a dozen cloth nappies anyway, they are good for cleaning the car...

Doesn't the choice depend on how many rare frogs lost their homes in the growing of cotton vs. pine pulp?

jaybam

Didnt take you lot long to turn another thread into a wankerfest. Wonder if that's one of the reasons for being racist?

Sorry for hijacking your thread Timah but I have a driver head coming now. Good luck with your search.

Seriously? I'm not jc.

Perhaps the next time you see him you might like to voice your annoyance that his moronic carry-on is starting to now affect your enjoyment of the forum. I'd suggest you'd be wasting your time though.

He hated WA long before I came around. Might have been Yoss that instigated, usually is.

Not that you'll care, but no I didn't.

We are a misunderstood bunch

No you're not. You're wankers who are understood to be wankers. What you were was tolerated, although that level seems to be diminishing.

Come to champs Timah, you'll love it I guarantee it.

After all your carry on, and given the one champs that I wanted to make for the year I can't, let me be clear - I'd rather go to a Nickelback concert.

Anyway, I've found what I'm after, you lot continue to act in the manner we all expect you to. Cheers.

Why are we wankers Timah? Because we don't act on the forum like wannabe mods?

I had nothing against you, I don't see where the hate comes from?

But you live in your little qld bubble whilst the rest of the community shares and integrates. Hopefully we can share a beer at the qld champs and realize its just the Internet and life is bigger than that. I know Jaybam is buying me one ;-)

Good luck with your little one, being a dad is amazing.
