I would think FVD suite (Converter module) would do it. I haven't tried that particular conversion with it myself, but it is in the options list.

Thanks Dave. Couldn't get it to copy properly though. Found and used one called WinXDVD that is good.

Aeems like a lot of effort for little benefit as All DVD players sold in the 21st century ( or near enough ) can play the format.

There are a gazillion free applications that can do this don't pay for anything or try to pirate anything. I don't use windows any more but I would be getting Gordion Knot to DVD2SVCD. Essentially those packages are for going the other way but they work in reverse I think.

Www.doom9.org is a great place for conversion guides

I agree, but it is a Tropfest Film Competition entry and can only be submitted in DVD format

I use ConvertXtoDVD from VSO software (http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/). It's not free, but it's not expensive ($50) and is very simple to use.

There is free software out there (eg Gordian Knot) but most of the open source stuff last time I looked (years ago, granted) was a real patchwork of different bits of software and had about 50 million options, making things very very complicated for novices. ConvertXtoDVD you basically just add your video file, setup a menu (if you want it) and then it'll even burn your disc for you.

+1

Great software. They also have a few other software thingos that work well. Bluray convertor ultimate and dvd convertor also work and simple to use. I bought a gold licence from them for unlimited free updates.
