I bought a odyssey protype ix #9 6 months ago for a bomb, and recently found out it is a very good counterfeit.

I didn't pick it, but was picked up when I traded it for something else.

What were the signs? I am surprised they have copied these, as there are not many around.

I couldn't pick it, but the guy said the markings were not as deep, he said the weights looked slightly different, and no serial number

I have offered it to BITS for $100 plus post. I am copping a fairly big loss, and that's to be expected, but any less than that and I will just keep it and use it.

FWIW the fake putter feels just fine and rolls pretty nice.

The main giveaway is that it is a HT (High Toe model) but is the standard shape.

I did not pick up that it was not right either, honestly had I liked the #9 shape I would have kept it and been none the wiser...and been happy with the putter. Feels good, rolls good, looks good.
