How bloody tuff are these holes playing
By tomorrow those greens will be even harder and faster which is hard to fathom :smt102
That putt of Mickelsons on the 7th green was just frightening to watch.
Imagine what kind of scores some of us would rack up

I thought the pin placement for 10 was just INSANE!!!

and the 7th - well...on the wormshot, did u see how tightly mown it was??? that's just crazy!!!
but watching WS on CNN just now, it's reported that the USGA admitted to making a mistake on the 7th - they've had rolled the green that morning...when they weren't spose to...

watching the pre-round analysis on ESPN...

Both Van Pelt and Andy North are blasting the USGA for some insane pin positions TODAY!!!

The 7th hole - 4 scores have already gone thru - one bogey, three TRIPLES!!!
the first 2 players putted the ball INTO THE BUNKER!!!

the USGA is now out there watering the front portion of the green between groups - can anyone say Aus Open???
And the front pin was sposedly easier!!!

The 11th as a result got moved back to the back...where it's on an uphiller...
Tom Meeks (sen USGA director) putted for 45mins on the "proposed" 11th pin position earlier - he putted more than just a few into the bunker too...

Andy North is not a happy camper - he went onto say that US Open should NOT be played on ocean courses (he mentions Pebble and Shinnecock) as wind is always an unknown...esp with how the USGA toughens the course (without any consideration for the wind)...

Meeks also said that in hindsight, the 7th should have been prepared better a week ago...
