I got up to Kupunda on my own Monday for a hit before starting afternoon shift for the week.
Played my usual game ball v ball to make things interesting and maintain some concentration.
The results were quite weird really as the ball with the worst score has the better stats apart from one. Normally with that many greens & fairways hit I'll shot 1 or 2 over.

Bridgestone E6
79/74 - 39in, 40out
FH= 8/15_5in, 3out
DD= 5/15_2in, 3out
GIR= 9_4in, 5out
Putts= 33
6 lip outs (1x4 foot birdie, 1x6 foot birdie, 2x 8 foot birdie, other 2 6-8 par savers) What could have been.
No doubles, no birdies

Taylormade TP5
78/73 - 42in, 36out. 1 under on the back nine
FH= 5/15_3in, 2out
DD= 7/15_3in, 4out
GIR= 4_1in, 3out
Putts= 26
No lip outs and no big putts holed.
3 doubles, 2 birdies

Well I took the day off work to play in the Wednesday comp. Halfway round after having 15 points (started off 10) I wondered why I'd bothered. Thankfully I managed 19 points round the front 9 to make it a bit more respectable. But geeze I played crap.

Putting was the worst, the greens were cored and sanded 10 days ago which is partly why, but I hit them crap too and missed plenty of gettable ones. Struggled badly with woods too, including being stone dead behind trees (like almost touching the trunk) twice and had to hack out left handed. How the hell I managed an entire round without a wipe astounds me - guess I should be happy with 34 points!

The ugly stats here (http://golfshot.com/rounds/detail/346-14414274-14414632).

Finished 1, 1, wipe, 1, 1 today in the breeze for 31 points.. :(

May have hit 2 GIR all day, just left myself way too much hard work, and eventually the grind got me.

Played Tuesday for 38 points, nothing special apart from some sensational scrambling. had 23 putts which always helps ;-)

Played an ambrose day yesterday. We had 1 double, 1 bogey, 5 pars and 11 birdies for 8 under off the bat. Our group came runner up by 0.2 of a stroke. Really sucks about the 3 shots we gave up in the last three holes as we would have cantered in :( Still we did it honest, Each player had to provide 2 tee shots and we got caught having to take a bad tee shot on our 18th that we doubled. Can't believe the poor bloke only got off the tee once in 18 holes. Hitting your second from behind the ladies on Dune 6 is not a great way to finish. Although I'm sure we could have played a better second shot in hindsight to limit the damage.

Hit the ball a staggering amount better than last week but the slice did come back towards the end as I got tired.

Here's my tee shot from Lakes 2 for JC...missed the quarry wall I'm sorry to report. 255m to the flag so anyone who has played with me knows that is stupid long for me even allowing for the tailwind you often get on that hole.

A lazy 79 in my matchplay round against stuartmac75 at Cairns GC this morning. I made 3 birds, and left at least another 3 on the lip. Really starting to get the swing modifications under control now. Look for a handicap drop very soon!

Played nine holes at harvey today, shot 54, the only trouble was I had the kids with me, i think this add at least 5 shots, well that's what I'm telling myself. Now I'm no expert, but it seemed to me that the greens were in need of a trim,lots of long blades sticking up

87/72 in stroke today.

45f/42b - 6FW, 4GIR, 29 putts, 1 x 3 putt.

Had 5 doubles after a few encounter with trees. And that is with 178 trees down after the massive storms that went through the other week.

Was hooking irons and driver, in the end I just gave up and aimed right and it worked out ok most of the time. New driver (G20) going well, the F1 is fairly stout so probably suits me trying to bash the crap out of it. Hit a few drives out there so was pretty pleased with it.

33 points in a 3 club challenge. 8/13 fairways. 3 Greens. 1 birdie. On the card for NTP, 2.70m but that was early so may not hold up. 31 putts. Given the lack of clubs this doesn't include putts from off the green including 100m 3rd to 9 (my last) which finished on then 2 putted for bogey. It's an interesting exercise.

Felt like I was hitting it OK, chipping crap but putting still good. No change in the cap so onto next week!

73/70 for 37 points. Smoked my driver all day, old Cobra still the goods (although it was my new old driver, thanks to a friendly middle-man). The irons are going really well and putted OK. only had 1 bird, 4 bogies...pretty solid all day. Did manage to hit the flyer of all flyers, was 140 out and hit a lazy 8 iron 30m past the green...HTF does that happen?

Friday 14/12. Captains Challenge at Brisbane GC.

After warming up with a schooner instead of a small bucket of balls, I was 4 over after 3. Then turned it around and hit the ball good and was let down by some poor putting (3 x 3 putts). Finished with 36 points (8 over). Ran 5th on the day. Had a great day with Golfer69, who had 30 points. Thanks for the books Dicky ... they're awesome.

Jockrot on the Jarro scale - 4 (Walking affected - no powder required).

Saturday 15/12. Christmas Hambrose at Brisbane GC.

Our team had -13 with a 4.5 handicap. A fun day with some tees well forward, but pins in really funky positions. We eagled the 1st and the 12th. We also had 6 lip-outs - so - what could have been as we missed the major prize by 2 shots.

Jockrot on the Jarro scale - 8 (Powder required x 2, walking severely affected unless holding scrotum, no blood - yet feeling like open blistering).

33 pts around Reddy Bay yesterday. Putt were not dropping. 8 Fwy, 6 Greens, 33 putts, 1 wipe, 88/74 off the stick.

Handicap gets another .2 drop to a new low of 13.2. Have a played to 17 dropping off next round, so could go out .2 again unless I beat played to 19.

Had 38pts yesterday for a win in A grade on a 4 way countback. I didn't really play that well only hit 4 greens for the day and had 29 putts and bogeyed the last but it was good enough. Not hitting driver on the back nine might have helped.

Good shooting Idgolfguy, catch22, muldude, L4G, Hocko and OWAG...I just had a practice hit with Idgolfguy and shot 77 around Vines Ellenbrook, using my BLADES that I haven't gamed in more than 7 months. I also hadn't had a hit in more than a week... Couldn't believe it.Hocko mentioned to me over a year ago that I needed to grow some :$&? AND game these things to improve my ballstriking with the irons. Now I'm giving it some real thought...

A scary day yesterday...from 'career' best form to 7 shanks in 9 holes (with 3 lost balls) :( I won't post the score, as I replaced a non flag round with another. No handicap change, but certainly a mental change!

Best example was a 270m drive on Index 1 hole (395m dogleg) to perfect position. Was at the top of the hill, with a good look at the green and at 151m. 60* shank right into the thickest part of kack on the course. Dropped another, stiffed it to 6ft and dropped the putt for a 5/2.

Didn't shank it at all on the back 9, so that was encouraging. Cured it by hooking the crap out of everything.

SIGH.

Played Monthly Medal Stroke round on Saturday and ended with 82/68 (net 3 under) and came second in the Medal.

Stupid thing is that I was terrible with driver in hand and put 3 balls in water and one OOB. If I had kept it in the fairway it would have been a scary good round!

8/14 FIR

Not one part of the game was working.
Worst I've putted for awhile, not helped by chipping poorly.
If the left edge of the cup was the middle I would have been holing them from every where.
