G'day all

As its heading towards the end of the year and most people may start holidays a day or two early, I was thinking of organising the ACT Ozgolf One Day Classic on Sunday 23rd December. Comp format is single stableford running with the pro-comp on the day.

I've requested two groups around 11:30am, giving enough time for interstaters to make the journey to Canberra's Gungahlin Lakes to join locals Monsta65 and Dannycallaz. The invite is open to other Canberra players including TG01, Morgy, Jerry Springer, Bluescooter etc AGU handicap is required.

Express your interest below.

It was heading that way. I think he was off 6, when we played at Wollongong the year before Federal, and 14 at the last Mt Broughton game.

As for playing for something ... I'll throw in four bottles of wine for best net, 'Bob Holland', a NTP and a long drive.

Worst score, after his five consecutive ducks in the mid-80's.

10.3, so you have to give me .4 of a shot.

I have really only been back into it properly for the last few months when I joined Bonnie Doon. I still can't walk 18, so I have to use a cart when playing comp, which I don't like, but at least it allows me to play golf.

Benno's way is entertaining. A couple of snipers OOB and walk to 11.

The moved the OOB back by about 4-5m but it still seems to attract pills, almost as much as the water on the other side.....

Heaps easier to just put a wipe on the card and walk the extra distance to 11. Gives you time to eat your pie...........

WBennett
12th December 2012, 08:50 AM
I've found a new way of wiping it lately.

Pull it into the trees, attempt a miracle shot out, strike a tree and ricochet 90 degrees OOB for an easy wipe.

Looks like we have a full dozen, or a dozen fools. What determines a merit bar event?

11:32 - Benno, Dotty, Grunt, Qbn Chopper
11:40 - Monsta, SMS316, Chrisso Gigolo, Blue Scooter (serial Ho and Mt Broughton victim)
11:48 - Jerry Springer (from The Golf Forum), Mrs Jerry, Philty Phil (Mt Broughton) and Dento The Tripod

Should be a cracker of an afternoon. Here is hoping we get a wind up like we had today.

Grunt, PM me with a time, and I'll pick you up on the way through. I think it is 2.5 hours from your place to Canberra.

Benno, can we now take a right off the highway at the Queanbeyan/Airport turnoff, or do we still have to continue down to Yowani to get there?

sms316
16th December 2012, 07:49 PM
You could, but you wouldn't.

WBennett
16th December 2012, 08:05 PM
Dotty - I would. Veer off on the Monaro Hwy turn and go right to Horse Park Drive. Follow it through the rapidly multiplying sets of lights til you hit Gundaroo Road and turn left, then follow through the roundabouts and you get to the club.

Don't speed on Horse Park. It's a favourite spot for the Revenue Cameras.

2.5 hours from the Cross Roads is easy.

Grunt
16th December 2012, 08:48 PM

Monsta

Dotty
16th December 2012, 10:56 PM
No problem, as I have a GPS in the car.

Just didn't want to get caught by an old Canberra 'favourite', being within 500m of the destination but no connecting road. (Done a few visits to Nicholls (Gold Creek), but always driving from the casino or Kingston.)
