had a 38 (+3) for 9 on the South course at Nudgee today. Hit 7 GIR for the 9 so was pretty happy about that. What i wasn't happy about was the 19 putts :(

Hit driver really well, and my irons were right on the money .. but i couldn't make a putt to save my life :x

I'd also like to add that my mates and I were planning on playing 18 holes, but we were stuck behind the ladies comp today ....... finished 9 holes in almost 3 hours  i had to bail out so i could come home and get the kids from school .... my mates are probably still out there somewhere

Played comp again today, single stroke for a change.
Nearly drove the 327m par 4 2nd (cut the dogleg) & made the easy birdie. A couple of uncharacteristic 3-putts reared their head as penance for staying off the practice green before the game. Still, I was +2 after 8. Then it hit, On the 9th hole, my tee shot was 50m short of the green (364m dogleg - cut the corner again ) I bladed my 56° wedge into the front bunker, then picked it clean and flew it over the back of the green, chipped up & 3-putted for a 7 :x
The back was much better, finishing +3 after parring a tough stretch of holes which often cause me pain. So after all that, I had 80 (+8) with a triple & 3 x 3-putts.

On another note, summer is here. Today it was 34° with 98% humidity

Played Nudgee comp today on the South course.

Had 42 point's with a wash on the 17th.... Hit the irons really well, and putted as good as I ever have. Driver was ok, my poor drives still gave me playable shot's, so that's all I can ask for.

Score is in Golflink already, with a CCR of 67, I lost 0.9, which takes me down to 13.2, my lowest handicap so far.

Thanks AP,

Yeah that's pretty much it, I still want to play well and get down low, but I'm just forgetting about the bad shots easier. And I've probably forgotten a lot of the stuff I tried to do previously to my swing and just concentrating on hitting the ball to the target.

I've got my 2nd wind after basically having the year off, and am really looking forward to playing again.

Plus I'm getting a few ho'ing urges back.....

Well I have said for a while it would happen soon and today it did.

I played in a Pro Am this morning @ Beverley Park. I played well and shot 41 points. as it was a 4BBB no handicap change. As I felt pretty good I decided to go and play Mac Grange for the Precept Challenge. A good move!!!! :D

I played the best 9 holes of my life to turn in 29 Points  , 2 over off the stick  I should have capitalised in it but maybe my luck ran out and I only shot 15 points on the back for 44 points in total. I won the day :P

The handicap downward move is on again, depending on course rating I should be off either 22 or 21 tomorrow.

Great work Grant. 29pts is phenomenal.

My story isn't quite as good, but here goes. I had 39pts this morning (doesn't sound so miraculous) But what makes it more interesting was the fact I had a wipe & 4 x 1 pointers in there. They were balanced out by 3 x 4 pointers . For the first time in comp, I made eagle today on the 482m par 5 13th http://www.spacespider.net/emo/happy046.gif. I put my drive in the centre of the fairway inside the 200m marker and puta 4 iron 1.5m from the pin. I also birdied the index 1 par 4 15th hole, and chipped in from the bunker to birdie the index 3 par 3 5th. If you look at the card, I was +4 for the first 3 holes, and +1 for the next 15

The verdict is in - i'm off 16 (16.0) as a result of the scoring fiasco a fortnight ago. That equals my lowest ever.

Today we played that stupid Par format. Finished +2, with 4 good chances in the final 4 holes to get another "+". Happy enough after turning at -1.

Interested to see what happens with the handicap, CCR might keep me at 16.0.

Everything that could have gone wrong on the course went wrong today. :P

Lost my ball on the first tee shot, walked back 200m to reload.
4 penalty strokes.. (including one that caught the the lip of the bunker, came to contact with my knee on the way back)...

Took a 9 on the 11th with only 1 putt on the hole  .

Well after yesterdays effort, today's playoff for runner up in the c grade Champs was going to be a let down and It Was.
I had one of those days where if it could go wrong it did. By the 14th hole and being 8 behind I had my ball disappear from the face of the earth when it should have been in the middle of the green I had had enough and could not be bothered walking back to replay the shot a took a DQ  Yesterday I had a good day, Today was not going to be one of those days!
Oh well that is the game we play that is called golf. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. :)

4BBB Par at Cobram yesterday.  Conditions were atrocious.  Constant rain and a bit of wind made the course very nearly unplayable.  We had +4, which was OK.  We made almost all of that in the first 1/2 dozen holes, before we just couldn't keep the rain out.  I almost missed a couple of drives due to losing my grip.  It goes in for a re-grip today.

BTW - I thought the Golf Pride Softie was a good grip, but it sucks in heavy rain.  Looks like I will have to regrip all my irons.  I think I'll go back to good old cord grips.  I would love the gripmaster leather, but it's just too expensive for a full set of clubs.

20/10/2005, Ipswich GC, Stableford

The first of two rounds on the weekend were I felt that I had played crap, but the final result said otherwise.  I'm really having trouble getting my swing to click at the start of a round, and that was the case again at Ipswich, with two wipes in the first 3 holes.  Finished the front nine with a 4 pointer birdie to add some respectability to the card.
Thought I had played pretty ordinary on the back nine too, but was surprised to find out that I was playing it to my handicap.

Had a bit of trouble with the putter with four 3-putts.  This usually happened with a long first putt, and leaving it well short on the slower greens.
Still didn't have the driver in the bag, and the 3 wood is inconsistent.
I find that I hit my best shots, when my head is empty (some might say it always is), that is, no swing thoughts, but that is easier said than done.

8/15 effective T-shots.
6/18 effective approaches.
34 putts.
-------------------
1 birdie.
6 pars.
6 bogies.
4 doubles.
1 other.
Score 14-18-32pts, 46-42-88 (Par 36-36-72).

30/10/2005, Wynnum GC, Hackers Social Comp

Went from slicing the ball most of the time, to slicing or hooking or pushing left. Good damage control on the front nine, keeping the bad holes to bogeys, but the wheels fell off on the back with 4 doubles.
The greens were real slick, and I never really adjusted with my chipping. The putting was pretty solid however.
Driver still not in the bag.

Once again, thought I played pretty bad, but the score wasn't a complete disaster.
