RC drivers and fairway woods have the Sonatec driving cavity in their design. The Company either bought the patent or Sonatec when it died, is my guess.

I might be wrong Ray, but I think Sonartec was their 'cheaper' brand.

Peter, when I was at the 2003 US Open, I made a point of checking out the bags of the players. The most common fairway woods were the Sonartec. The champion Furyk had them in his bag. I bought mine in 2001 from John Smith (he had a business across from Carrara) and met the owner of Sonartec who was visiting Australia at the time. Smith was the Australian distributor for Sonartec and for KZG at the time.

When in doubt, google. Sonartec bought the rights off RC ...

Very interesting story - http://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/3436-sonartec-demise-of-a-dream/

Have been using a 10 year old Sonartec fairway wood for a while now , decided to upgrade to a G20 , put the Sonartec on E bay and nobody bid on it . Lucky for me as I have gone back to the Sonartec and sold the G20 on Ebay. Great fairway woods.

I throw it in the bag on occasions when I need a 3-wood. Other than that I play a Ping 4-wood.
