As per the title.
Interested in how others think?

Q. If you buy a new club that normally wouldn't get used more then once or twice a round, is it compulsory to use it during a round for the first time even if there's no shot for it?

I say yes.

I say yes best to get use out of it before the honeymoon period wears off.

Depends on the round, if I was playing really well probably wouldn't push it. So I guess that's a yes about 95% of the time :)

I have that issue with my 6 iron but it would be silly to leave it out of the bag.
Do you use every club in your bag each round?

If you get a hot new girlfriend, how many dates do you wanna wait before gettin' a r**t? Not many would be my guess

For me that new club is usually a 4 wood and yes I usually find a time to top or slice hook it out of the golf course.

Didn't have to invent one for it's first outing today.
Used it for 2nd shot on a par 5 from a steep down hill crappy lie and it came off like a 3 wood. Left me about 50m from the green. Usually from the down hill lie on this hole I hit 5 iron leaving me about 100-120m out. Attempts with 3 woods have proved disastrous before.
