I reckon daylight savings should at least be brought in the SE.

Last year on a holiday my bro took advantage of the daylight savings and travelled from Tweed up to Coolangatta by cab so we could sink some more p!ss before the pub closed.  :smt042

Someone has pulled their finger out and started an e-petition with the Queensland Parliament. Get on it (Qld residents only).

If the idea of SEQ having a different time zone to FNQ doesn't appeal, you can also sign the "Statehood for North Queensland" petition.

Whats to stop someone like me making up a fake address and signing this?

Will they really check every single person against the electoral roll?

Poor deluded fools.

Probably nothing I suspect.

There are some piss funny petitions in that list, didn't realise there were so many people out there from the FML faction!

I like having the sunlight to myself on a run at 5am in the morning. If we have daylight savings, I'll have to share it with the lycra army.

Which city/town in the world is closest to the equator that currently has daylight savings?

Would have to be Paranaita in Mato Grosso, Brazil to the South and San Carlos, Nicaragua to the north.

I did my own research and figured out it was the central west part of Brazil (the north doesn't have it). The state of Mato Grasso is closer to the equator than Cairns (as is Nicaragua). I wonder how their curtains, chickens and cows are going.

It won't matter with any government in power. The fact of the matter is that neither side of government is prepared to piss off FNQ and cost themselves a few seats.

Those born in any state outside of Queensland should not be eligible to sign such a petition.

It'd be worth it just so we don't get tripped up with tv listings. I almost missed the first hour of the NRL final this year coz I had gotten the local start time.

One hour is pointless - I'd vote for three hours

markTHEblake

I'd vote for daylight saving if it was between April and October, thats when we need an extra hour of daylight.
Who cares if its still dark when you go to work, but imagine after work in June, you could still water the garden, walk the dog, go fishing, play golf, and all those other things that people can do with daylight saving but never do.
