Only three things worry me about these champs, golf wise:

# The greens... I think I will like them but, you never know. I know you will mate. I can't speak for the greens at St Andrews Beach and Moonah but they should be very good. Not overly fast as they have to slow them down in the windier conditions, but will run fairly true. The greens at Kingswood, Southern and Spring Valley will be the most absolute, pristine surfaces you've come across. This time of year they will be fast, firm and very, very true.
# Lack of golf in the lead up ( thursday/friday - rust removed, no biggie) Yep, that's what Thursday is for.
# How bad I have been hitting driver. I may have to take 4 drivers ;) ( Might not be enough if lucas comes near me) That could be a concern. Obviously Sat and Sun are links style courses so could have a build up of very strategically well placed marrum and tea-tree. None of Kingswood, Southern or Spring Valley are necessarily tight, but there are places you just DO NOT want to go. Tea-tree on sandbelt courses is death.


Wedges? More bounce better down your way...??? I wouldn't say more bounce, no. It's a different sort of sand underneath but you'll get used to it fairly quickly. I find it easier to play little nippy wedges around melbourne greens than I did in QLD. I did hit it pretty bad in QLD though.

Unless there's a bunker in your way, this is the play. The ball runs so smooth its just like putting on slightly longer grass. You'll do fine mate, I've seen you hit your wedges, you should have no dramas.

Popper, you saw how much I struggled on the greens in QLD, it'll be the same for you for a little bit, but the difference is you can work these ones out and adjust. We should get to Kingswood in plenty of time, I suggest we head straight to the practice green until tee time.
